Description/content Finishing Touches for International Career Opportunities

Technology shapes our lives – it develops at a breath-taking pace, it poses increasingly complex
challenges and offers almost unlimited career opportunities. In order to meet the great demand for
skilled specialists and management staff, Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences devised the
application-focused Master's degree programme in engineering sciences with lectures conducted
in English.

By advancing and specialising knowledge acquired at the Bachelor's level, as well as offering a
wide variety of interdisciplinary content, this course prepares students for demanding engineering
activities as well as offers a fast track into project and leadership responsibility, primarily in
international companies.

Technical Know-How and Soft Skills

2
The Master's degree programme in Engineering Sciences is devised as an application-focused
course. Its aim is to provide its students with advanced and specialist knowledge in engineering
and related areas on a scientific foundation. Students have the opportunity to specialise in a
particular area by choosing one of the following specialist fields in accordance with their particular
interests and career aspirations:

Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Mechatronics
Mechanical Engineering and Plastics Engineering

In addition to providing advanced training in engineering, the course is intended to promote

general skills such as teamwork, intercultural communication, and English language skills. This is
aided by the Master's project, which is conducted as a group project in a situation that is as realistic
as possible. In the course of working on this project, students learn methodological skills to
organise and complete complex tasks. They also learn to work together in a group.

Borderless Education

As the degree programme is strongly focused on the global market, students can complete a stay
abroad at any time during their studies. Thanks to extensive foreign relations with European and
worldwide universities and companies, students will have numerous opportunities to gain
international experience. The International Office will be happy to answer any questions regarding
this and offer students advice.

Course Details

Course organisation The course contents over the three semesters are typically independent of each other, so that
there is no fixed sequence order. However, it should be noted that the majority of courses are
offered only once per year. It is recommended that the Master's project is carried out during the
second semester. The Master's thesis is to be started in the third semester.

About 60-70% of all courses contain lectures combined with exercises or practical lab class
exercises. Part-time studies are possible on request for candidates who are working in parallel. For
part-time studies, the programme duration is six semesters instead of three.

Types of assessment Written exams, course papers, presentations, Master's project, Master's thesis

For international students without industrial experience, it is recommended to include an

experience. Though this is not an official requirement for completing the Master's programme, it
usually provides a very good opportunity to develop a Master's thesis topic with a company in
industry.

should calculate approx. 8,800 EUR per year.

Sciences

As the most important educational institution in south-eastern Bavaria, Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH
Rosenheim) combines a multifaceted and innovative profile with solid regional roots and an international reputation. Close contacts to
industry in one of Germany's strongest economic areas provide 6,000 students with an education that is oriented around the practical skills
necessary for a successful career. A friendly atmosphere, close contact between students and faculty, and the modern campus setting
provide an ideal learning environment.

Small but great - an excellent learning environment

Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences is known for its open and friendly atmosphere. Whether it be the students, the
lecturers, or the staff: everyone is very committed to working together to shape the university. Intensive and individual support provided
by lecturers, small group study settings, application-focused teaching and training, and the interdisciplinary exchange between the
subjects and faculties are just some of the many small but significant aspects that characterise everyday student life and the university
campus. Added to this are the many well-equipped workshops and laboratories, which offer broad technical as well as creative scope for
course-specific projects in all subjects.

Ready to jump up the career ladder - solid practical connection

The students gain significant experience that extends far beyond the boundaries of true specialist knowledge by taking part in practical
projects with partners from diverse industries. From project management to specific research assignments, the concept of theory-practice
transfer forms the focus of study at Rosenheim. Learning through projects encourages the development of elementary skills like the ability
to work in a team and solve problems and prepares students for the challenges of the real working life in the best possible way.

In the network of the future - industry and research

Rosenheim has a long tradition of inspirational, innovative strength and a solid market-oriented practical connection. As the number one
university partner in one of Europe's strongest economic areas, the students of Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences have
the best regional, national, and even international links with industry and research. Through study projects, theses, executive education
programmes, and applied research, the university works intensively with industry, including small and medium-sized companies, and acts
as forum, initiator, partner, and catalyst for positive economic development within the region and beyond.

University Location
Rosenheim is located in the south-eastern part of the German state of Bavaria. Close to the Alps, it is an area rich in scenic beauty and with
an impressive cultural heritage. About half an hour's drive from Germany's "high-tech capital", Munich, it is also the centre of a prospering
economic region with a population of about 100,000 inhabitants.
The city of Rosenheim is an attractive place to live and study, with its unique Mediterranean flair and beautiful location in a unique
landscape of mountains, forests, and lakes. Why not take a short three-hour trip to Italy and enjoy the Lago di Garda or the stunning town
of Merano? Additionally, the ski and snowboard resort of Sudelfeld is just 30 minutes away. The Alps and the idyllic Lake Chiemsee - near
7
one of the most famous castles built by the "fairytale king" Ludwig II - await you with year-long recreational activities like winter sports,
water sports, and spas. Rosenheim and its surroundings also feature a full calendar of entertaining cultural events. From classical to jazz,
pop, and rock, the Culture and Congress Centre in Rosenheim regularly hosts music concerts, guest theatre performances, and social
events - there's something entertaining for everyone. Popular meeting points are small art events, of which there are plenty in Rosenheim.
ASTA pub, Theater am Markt, or the Hofbräu are some of the most well-known locations to meet up with friends. Rosenheim's range of
events is significantly broadened by the attractions at the Ballhaus, and the Citydome cinema complex shows a wide range of films. The
newly built municipal library in Rosenheim serves not only as a meeting point for young people, but it also promotes learning with its large
and sophisticated collection of books, CDs, and DVDs.
