The Filipino Chaplaincies of the Veneto region will organize one-day sports activities in Verona on Sept. 4, 2011. 3. As set on our pastoral calendar made last October, 2010, the Family Day of the Filipino Chaplaincy will fall on September 18, 2011. Each leader of all Catholic faithfuls group composing the Chaplaincy is asked to take note of this date, which was set long before . 4. The Sinulog 2012 of the Veneto region will take place on January 22, 2012 here in Padova, probably in the Basilica of Santa Giustina.

Padova, ItalyFilipino faithful started coming and waiting outside the Chiesa Santa Lucia at 1:00 p.m. on May 29, 2011 for the celebration of the culmination of the Flores de Mayo/Santacruzan here in Padova, spearheaded by the Cappellania Cattolica degli Immigrati Filippini. Since the church is not big enough to contain hundreds of Pinoys, the ones given priority to get inside and be sitted were the sagalas and the children and other important guests, that included Her Excellency Ambassador to the Holy See or Vatican, Mercedes Tuason, the first time ever in the history of the celebration of the Flores de Mayo/Santacruzan here in Padova that was attended by a Philippine Ambassador to the Vatican. Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua - The Cappellania degli Immigrati Filippini particiapated the tredecinamass in preparation of the feast of St. Anthony of Padua on June 5, 2011. Some members of the Chaplaincys Pastoral Council joined the procession towards the altar at the start of the

Mass which was presided over by Don Elia Ferro, the Migrants Director of the Diocese of Padova, with priests in-charge of different ethnic communities here in Padova. During the Mass, liturgical songs were assigned to different ethnic communities, and the Filipinos were assigned to sing the Communion song.

Mrs. Marites Marpa was assigned to read and pray in Tagalog one petition in the Prayers of the Faithful. The couple Samuel and Mylene Balana offered a basket of fruits during the offertory. At the end of the Mass, the people were blessed by the relic of St. Anthony of Padua at the Piazza outside the Basilica.

Evento che riunisce tutti i credenti, compresi noi filippini. Infatti, lungo la fila di fedeli, si trovavano gruppetti di filippini che hanno voluto partecipare e vedere le reliquie del Santo amato dal popolo padovano. Sfortunamente, molti nostri connazionali che lavorano fuori Padova non avevano il giorno feriale, perci non sono potuti venire alla Basilica del Santo

tipici del paese d'origine, la Vergine Maria e i Santi Patroni adornati da fiori e tantissimi Cattolici al seguito, pronti a testimoniare la loro fede. Fedeli che provengono non solo da Padova, ma anche da diverse parti d'Italia, per esempio Milano, e d'Europa, Londra e Barcellona. Per incorniciare la bellezza di questa processione sono stati anche usati degli archi ornati da fiori freschi, ventagli, tulle e Crocifissi. Ma dietro a tutto ci stanno molte persone che hanno fatto s che la processione avvenga in modo pacifico e tranquillo, iniziando dalle Usherettes, con a capo le sig.re Salome Banzuela e

dalla bandiera filippina e quella della Cappella; poi gli ufficiali delle varie associazioni filippine di Padova e, in fine, i cosidetti sagala, cio i bambini e i ragazzi che offrono i fiori alla Vergine Maria. A chiudere la fila, i molti partecipanti che hanno voluto assistere a questo imperdibile appuntamento annuale. Un altro aspetto che ha differenziato questo evento
dagli anni scorsi anche la partecipazione dell'Ambasciatrice delle Filippine presso la Santa Sede, S.E. Sg.ra. Mercedes A. Tuason, e il Vescovo di Maasin, Monsignor Precioso D. Cantillas, che non si limitato a celebrare la Santa Messa, ma ha anche partecipato alla processione lungo le vie padovane.

Severina Mundacruz, che fin dalla Chiesa Santa Lucia hanno organizzato i partecipanti nell'ordine in cui dovevano stare, seguiti dai Marshals che, guidati da Welvin Villanueva ed Eduardo Marpa, hanno controllato l'afflusso delle persone nelle strade, per poi finire con il Prayer Brigade che ha accompagnato i fedeli nel cammino con il Santo Rosario e con le canzoni alla Madonna. Con addosso la maglietta azzurra stampata con il logo della Cappellania, il comitato organizzativo ha dato via alla processione, mettendo di fronte a tutti la Croce, che rappresenta quella trovata dalla regina Elena, madre di Costantino il Grande; seguita

Partendo da via Santa Lucia, i fedeli hanno camminato lungo Corso Milano, continuando per via Bronzetti per finire davanti alla Chiesa Nativit dove annualmente si ragruppano i ragazzi per la foto ricordo. L'indiscutibile successo deve essere dato alla mente che sta dietro a tutta la preparazione sia organizzativa che spirituale, Don Oscar O. Cadayona, che per mesi ha riunito settimanalmente i suoi collaboratori, e alla sua mano destra, la presidente del Consiglio Pastorale, sig.ra Verma Villanueva.
