ABSTRACT

Lean Manufacturing is a prominent strategy used in the printing industry to

improve efficiency. It is a well-organized approach for eliminating waste or non-value-added
items in order to achieve successful production goals. Additional activities Several tools, such as
5S, TPM, Kanban, Kaizen, and others, are used in Lean Manufacturing.
The researcher focuses on TPM in this work (Total Productive Maintenance). TPM
is a concept for maintaining plants and equipment with the participation of all corporate
personnel in order to improve the overall effectiveness of the equipment (OEE). In this article,
the researcher will identify an issue in the manufacturing line of a corporation and then use lean
methods to increase efficiency. The researcher will then conduct a time study on the company's
production process. The aim of the time study is to determine the OEE and the time required to
produce one piece of goods. The researcher then created and recommended a one-piece flow
system to management, demonstrating the gain in productivity through simulation. Flexsim was
used to simulate the outcome, which reveals that 7.59 seconds were saved in the production of
one calendar piece.
Therefore, by implementing one-piece flow, OEE increased from 34.3 percent to 60
percent, and the organization saved around 6 hours each month. Finally, the researcher will
check the distribution of the acquired data. The Anderson Darling Normality Test is used to
check that the data distribution is normal.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Low productivity, an untidy working environment that affects the effectiveness of

process flow, a lack of tool labeling, inventory that causes the space to be insufficient, wastes
such as defect, wasteful motion, and, finally, a lack of multi-skill employees are all issues that
must be addressed. As a result, the researcher intends to use the lean approach to solve the
problem.
Lean manufacturing, along with its principles, has been touted as an effective way to
improve a company's performance. It is now widely used across a wide range of nations and
sectors. Although its effectiveness is undeniable, lean manufacturing was not without flaws, and
its impacts on performance are still hotly debated. Prior research has shown that lean
manufacturing has a good and considerable influence on operations performance. Using a case
study technique, the findings should be qualitatively confirmed, explained, and triangulated. This
is necessary in order to have a better understanding of how lean manufacturing improves
organizational performance.
