Meaning the target is adjacent to an opposing model located on the opposite side of the target from the attacker (side=the three spaces making up the sides of the square surrounding a monster's base). All attacks against flanked models have advantage. Darkness: Zargon may add a bit of threat to a board by restricting the number of spaces the hero's may “see”. This may be done randomly by rolling a red die and adding 4, or the number of spaces can be chosen by Zargon to fit the level. If Zargon wishes, the heroes may find torches worth a reasonable amount of gold to help light their way. Variable Monster Movement: Variable monster movement adds suspense to Zargons turn and makes chases more interesting. To use variable monster movement, merely subtract 5 from every monster's movement to form a base movement. When it is time to move the monster, Zargon roles a single red die and adds the result to the base movement. This means sometimes monsters may fall behind in a pursuit, stumble on a flagstone, or charge rapidly forward depending on “the luck of the dice”. If another Hero is within line of sight then the dying Hero makes a Death Save roll by rolling two combat dice, if a White Shield is rolled they regain 1 BP. Otherwise they remain unconscious until another Hero heals them. If the Hero starts their turn unconscious without another Hero within line of sight then they are Captured by the monsters and must be rescued. Capture. When reduced to 0 BP if no other Hero is within line of sight then the dying Hero makes a Death Save roll, if a White Shield is rolled they regain 1 BP. If they fail then they are captured by the monsters and must be rescued. Rescue. A captured Hero is placed ina locked prison cell within the dungeon and regains 1 BP. The location is determined by Zargon in secret when the Heroes first enter the dungeon. When the cell door is discovered by a Hero they must defeat the prison guard(s) to obtain the key to the cell, the door is made of iron and cannot be broken.
