Truss Bridge Reflection

What I learned:
Before starting the Truss Bridge project, I thought it was going to be much easier because I used
to use Microsoft a lot in middle school. However, it was much more of a challenge than I thought
it would be. The hardest part was making the smaller lines symmetrical to each other. I had to
constantly go back and adjust because I felt like they weren’t leveled the way I wanted them to
be. Once I finished adding the smaller lines, the bigger lines were much easier to place. It took
me a lot longer than expected but I learned more about Microsoft features with this project alone.

ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NET) •S Addressed:

Standard #4 1.4b: Students select and use digital tools to plan and manage a design process that
considers design constraints and calculated risks.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This assignment was very beneficial because we
started off having to find images of different models of the truss bridges. Then we had to create
our own, teaching us how to replicate real life models using a computer software. This would be
beneficial to children because it will engage them in their learning, and it teaches them a lot
about symmetry and why symmetry is important when creating a real model.
