1. To what extent will giving incentives to entrepreneurs help in the growth of Ethiopia's
economic and social stability?

Giving incentives to entrepreneurs will help both in sustainable development

during rapid urbanization as the population of Ethiopia is predicted to have the
fastest growth rate and despite the urban expansion programme introduced by
the government, entrepreneurs have the power to conserve cultural identity and
provide social stability through their technological innovations in the future which
will remove the ‘middle man’ and lead to a digital economy. The sudden increase
in population should be used for the advantage of Ethiopia in different sectors like
medicine, science, construction instead of migration to other countries leading to
brain drain.

2. Explain the role of culture in urban growth models. Justify your answer by referring to
the three Urban Growth Models (Sector, Linear and Concentric).

Culture plays an important role in the urban growth models as the multiple nuclei
model, sector and concentric models as modern urban planners consider this an
important aspect with the introduction of new culture centered spaces, policy
building for a SMART city while promoting participatory practices for local
communities, as the collaboration between activists and stakeholders at all levels
will strengthen a partnership for developing an urban city. UNESCO suggests that
if decision-makers provide cultural initiatives then it will improve social inclusion,
which is important for a functioning area built by humans.

3. Mathematically evaluate using data from the source whether avg wage is directly related
to avg population.
 Average wage is directly proportional to average population as supported by the
data in reference 3. The population of a city’s adults before the implementation of
an urbanization plan was approximately 400 while the average wage was 600 USD
per adult. On the other hand, after urbanization there were 12000 adults with the
average wage was 1600 USD, increased by $1000 which is why a direct linear
trend is also observed.

4. Explain why the key concept (KC) of relationships is important in urbanization

development plans? In your answer, you must use two examples to support your
answer.

The key concept of relationships is an important aspect of development

urbanization plans because they include urban structures are related with each
other due to the need of the people living there. Secondly, these plans have also
contained data both before and after urbanization like transport time, industrial
area which refer to the relation between quantities and their connection with
concepts of an urbanized city.

Key concept: Relationships Relationships in MYP mathematics refers to the connections

between quantities, properties or concepts and these connections may be expressed as
models, rules or statements. Relationships provide opportunities for students to explore
patterns in the world around them. Connections between the student and mathematics in
the real world are important in developing deeper understanding.
