This is the Oath of the Warrior is a paladin subclass based

upon the Jaguar and Eagle Warriors of Aztec history. They


are built around a varied choice of channel divinities, al-
lowing you to create support, area control and defensive
paladins using the same base class, meaning two of your
Oath of the Warrior Paladins can look and play very differ-
ently.
This class appears in my work “A Fantasy Guide to the Az-
tec Empire.” A guide written and illustrated by me to help
GM’s and creators to set their own campaigns in a world
inspired by the historical Aztec Empire, without losing out
on any of the sense of fantasy. Or if you run loosely Aztec
inspired snake people in your campaigns then the guide
can really help flesh them out and make them much more

Duty Before Death


Although an Oath of the Warrior Paladin does not fear
death, they are hesitant to accept their fate before
their duty is completed. Starting at 15th level, if you
are reduced to 0 hit points whilst in combat, instead of
rolling your first death saving throw your character in-
stantly restores 2d8 plus their paladin level in hit points
and may act normally during your next turn. This ability
cannot be used again until after you have finished a long
rest.

At 20th level you gain the ability to take on the aspect
of your deity for a short time, being able to draw upon
