Please note that itis recommended by GE Waukesha to warm the engine by running with litte or no load until lube oil is 345 ~ 415 kPa (50 ~ 60 psi) and jacket water temperature exceeds 38°C (100°F). For standby units, jacket water heating to 43°C (10°F) is required. It is also to be noted that if the engine has not reached the proper operating temperature of 76° 82°C (170° ~180°F), the lube oil pressure could be as high as 758 kPa (110 psi). Once the engine has reached the proper operating temperature, the lube oil pressure should meet the above specifications, ‘Once the unit has warmed up, load should be applied gradually at a controlled ramp rate to avoid overloading engine at 2 controlled ramp rate. This rate is linear and should not exceed 20% of maximum rated load per minute (therefore 0-100% load can be achieved in 5 minutes). ‘We expect the above is adequately responsive to your query. Though if you need any further clarification inthis matter, kindly let us know accordingl With thanks and best regards, Soumyadipta Biswas | Assistant Manager - Service Clarke Energy fv YNM-Mechanical Section (mailto: Mechanical, Section @cairnindia.com) Sent: 13 September, 2016 7:14 PM To: Soumyadipta Biswas; Nikhil Barot Ce: YNM-Mechanical Superintendent; YNM-Onshore Production Superintendent; YNM-Field Manager Production; YNM- Field Manager Maintenance; Dhinakaran N; Yuvaraj S; YNM-Control Room ‘Subject: RE: JW Temperature Clause in GLBC Start up Sequence Dear Biswas, (ur L-7042 GL Engines during start up process we observed that it's taking 8 mins to achieve JW temp of 60C once initial erank occurs and base RPM of 800 reached. Once JW Temp of 60 Cis achieved, RPM will ramp up to 900 and then only will be loaded (As per our start logic). Due to above reason we are unable to load the engine tll the engine is attained 60Deg C and there by production loss. For our other L-7042 GSI Engines JW Temp of 60 C clause is not being applied 1 Requesting you to please confirm that whether this engine can be loaded immediately after start up without waiting for engine JW to reach 60 Deg C of any technical reason for keeping the engine JW temp 60 Deg C prior to loading.
