The study is based on Taylor’s Scientific Management Theory. Also known as Taylorism, the
theory is explained that to attain an economic efficiency, the workplace managers should take charge in
developing a productive system or process. According to Taylor, there are four principles that are still
relevant in these times. First, use the scientific method to accomplish a task. Identify the causes of the
problem, gather the data needed, and make decision based from it. Next, select workers based on their
capabilities. In this way, the tasks are accomplished efficiently. Third, monitor the workers’ performance.
Assess their productivity and suggest ways to make them better. Last is to divide the assignment between
the managers and the workers. Part of the managers’ load is to train the workers and it is the workers’ job
to execute what were trained.
This study aims to determine the effective strategies that the school heads are utilizing to implement
a well-organized and systematic process of distributing and retrieving the learner’s modules and online
teaching. With this, I believe the theory that may be appropriate for the research is the Scientific
Management theory. Since Frederick Taylor’s theory seeks for the efficiency and effectiveness of the
process that an organization is implementing, it would greatly contribute to the study on how the school
would implement their standard operating procedures on distributing and retrieving the learner’s module as
well as giving better quality of online teaching and learning process.
