Wilk’s Lambda

It is the percentage of total variance in the data set which is not explained by the variance among
the groups

Wilk’s Lambda = 1 – Var( among/between) / Var (Total)

Wilk’s Lambda = Var(within)/Var(Total)

Aw < 0.5 for two groups to be significantly different.

1/λ = var(total) / var(within)

1/λw = 1+ var(among) /var(within)

KMO

Kaiser-meyer-olkin measure of sampling adequacy indicates proportion of variance in the variables

that may be caused by underlying factors

High value (close to 1.0) indicate that factor analysis may be useful with the data.

If the value is less than 0.50, results of the factor analysis probably won’t be very useful.

Bartlett’s test of sphericity

Bartletts test of sphericity tests the hypothesis that the correlation matrix is an identity matrix (i.e,
variables are unrelated; therefore, unsuitable for factor structure detection)

Small values of significance level less than 0.05 indicate that a factor analysis may be useful with the
data.

Sig = 0.00000 ; Therefore, factor analysis may be useful for the given data.
