CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions, and

recommendations of the study on Development and Implementation of a Web-

based System for Cable and Internet Service Providers.

Findings

It is found out that:

1. Through the online application, the system can accept customers’

applications for subscription via the business website. Customers

can conveniently apply and inquire about the services offered by

the business. Registration allows the personnel to approve online

and walk-in applications. Consolidation and monitoring of

subscribers records are done easily.

2. The system is able to record and monitor every customer’s

payment transaction. Payment tracing can be done easily but the

system cannot accept online payment.

3. The system, through its Inventory Management Module, is capable

of allowing the personnel to monitor availability of stocks. Materials

used for installation are automatically deducted to the total number

of stocks once the customer already pays their installation fees.

Another feature of the system is management of business expenses

including recording and monitoring of expenses.

4. The system is capable of generating reports such as Expenses

Reports and Inventory Reports per branch. The expenses reports

include expense description, amount, and date incurred while the

inventory reports include the name of the material used, quantity,

remaining materials, and price. Lastly, the personnel can view the

monthly sales of a specific branch while the owner can view the

sales of the three different branches in graphical and statistical

form.

Conclusions

It is surmised that:

1. Online application and registration provide the customer a faster

option to apply and inquire about subscription. The system also

provides additional security.

2. The implementation of payment transaction management

eliminates paper and pen transactions. It also minimizes the task of

the personnel in recording and monitoring of payments and

provides easy and accurate payment records.

3. The Inventory Management Module makes it easy to track changes

in inventory levels of materials through system notification.

40
Expenses and Inventory records help the personnel, as well as, the

owner in determining the sales and the performance of the branch.

4. Through downloadable and printable reports, the personnel can

retrieve the records easily and at the same time monitor the

performance of the branches. Real-time and accurate records are

readily available anytime. Graphical and statistical representation of

sales allows the owner to easily monitor the performance of the

three branches without going there.

Recommendations

It is recommended that:

1. Signing of a service agreement to be added to the system,

specifically, in online application. This will hasten the transaction

where online applicants will automatically become subscribers once

the agreement is signed.

2. The developed system must accommodate electronic payment for

installation, reconnection, and transfer of location.

3. The system must also provide a downloadable and printable Sales

Report for easier and more reliable performance monitoring.

4. Other features may be added like Job Order scheduling.

5. Online orientation and discussion about the services can also be

made.

6. The end-users of this proposed system may undergo training to

acquire the necessary skills for easy manipulation of the system

once deployed and implemented.
