The most common techniques to identify ideas

Many ideas already exist and may be identified through standard market research techniques
and procedures.

Others will need to be identified through active stimulation.

The most common techniques are:

• Brainstorming (also negative brainstorming; discussion 66; method 635 [brain writing];
brain writing pool; collective notebook).
• Product-centred techniques (attribute listing; value analysis; morphological analysis)
• Systematic inventive thinking (subtraction, addition, multiplication, division, task
unification, etc.).
• Analogy (personal, direct, symbolic, fantasy).
