For inspection of the Piezo crystal after assembly with brass washers
a special Ball Drop Test Machine has been designed by the OFAJ
Nagpur.
After designing this special purpose Ball Drop Test Machine OFAJ
given technology to Pune Polytronics Pvt. Ltd only. for the execution
of the design.
To inspect our components before sending to customer i.e. OFAJ
Nagpur this Ball Drop Test Machine is required.
Since this is customized machine and not available in the market and
is limited to Pune Polytronics Pvt. Ltd, it has been proposed to procure
the said machine on Proprietary basis as per below details:

under Fixed Assets (FA) of the company.
Delivery date of the supply order against which this machine is
required is 31/10/2022.
Since this is developmental order and it is being manufactured for
first time in India, various optimization work is required once this
test machine is received to meet the targeted result of the
components.
Due to unavailability of time and urgency, it is being proposed to
procure this item on propriety basis.

1. Approval is being sought for purchase of Ball Drop Test Machine on
Proprietary Basis.
2. In ECD , the output voltage of Piezo crystal after assembly, needs
to be checked when mechanical force is applied.
3. The Ball drop test is the qualification test for the Piezo.
4. ECD has a similar assembled version of machine which was used
long time back which is not giving repeatability now.
5. The basic machine (manual /auto mode) was custom designed by
OFAJ, Nagpur and design was transferred only to M / s Pune
Polytronics Pvt. Ltd.
6. The machine is not available in open market.
7. As on now, sample testing is done at OFAJ, Nagpur.
8. The orders with ECD are all developmental orders and testing is
required to be done frequently.
9. Q u o t a t i o n for the machine from M/s Pune Polytronics Pvt.
Ltd, using manual testing, is enclosed.
10. Approximate Price: Rs. 2,17,500.00/- ( Two Lakh, Seventeen
Thousand, Five Hundred only) plus taxes plus installation and
commissioning(if required).
CMD may accord approval for purchase of Ball Drop Machine from
M / s Pune Polytronics Pvt. Ltd, Pune, on proprietary basis, for
testing of Piezo crystal assembly in ECD , at an expenditure of Rs.
2,17,500.00/- (Two Lakh, Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred
only) plus taxes plus installation and commissioning(if required).

General description:

This Ball Drop Fixture is specially developed for inspection of Piezo-Electric Crystal of SA Device. You can check
peak amplitude of the voltage generated in piezo-electric Crystal, when a steel ball of 11.9 gram is allowed to fall
from 150 mm height against the impact body. Accepted Limits of the voltage generated shall be in between 400V to
600V.

The Fixture consists of precision machined, processed, components. The Oscilloscope can be connected to the
Piezo-Electric Crystal terminals to check the output externally.

Technical Specifications:

Ball release : by manually operated latch.

Loading of ball : manually.

Ball height : 150 mm.

Ball weight : 11.9 gm.

Crystal holder : suitable for Piezo-Electric Crystal.
