Warning
Checking parts should only be carried out by suitably qualified specialist personnel who have
specific knowledge of the system.
Start checking only after you have read and understood these instructions completely.
During the checking of parts it is necessary strictly adhered to the corresponding instruction for
verification.
If in doubt about the correct setting of the piece to check you need to consult the part manual
to learn the part normal operation.

Care

• Always wear eye protection.


• Always operate your vehicle in a well ventilated area. Do not inhale exhaust gases that are
harmful to health.
• Keep the tools and test equipment away from all moving or hot engine parts.
• Always ensure that the vehicle is in "Park" (automatic transmission) or neutral (manual
transmission) and that the parking brake is adjusted so firmly to lock the wheels.
• Never lay tools on vehicle battery. You can join the terminals may cause damage to itself and
to the tools or the battery.
• Never smoke or have open flames near vehicle, fuel vapors or batteries are highly flammable
and explosive.
• Never leave the vehicle unattended while running tests.
• Keep appropriate fire extinguisher for all types of fires by hand.
• Always turn ignition key OFF when connecting or disconnecting electrical components, unless
otherwise indicated.
• Use rags to cover accessories fuel line connecting or disconnecting fuel lines. Avoid contact
with the fuel. Discard all rags properly.
• Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
• Stay away from the cooling fan motor. In some vehicles, the fan can start unexpectedly.
• You must follow the precautions the vehicle service manual when working around the air bag
system. If the instructions are not followed, the air bag may open up unexpectedly, which could
result in personal injury. Note that the air bag can still open up several minutes after the
ignition key off (or even if the battery is disconnected).
• Always follow vehicle manufacturer's warnings, cautions and service procedures.

5. Purpose
Tester Automotive Sensor Actuator is only intended to test the operation of the following
devices:

Sensors:
1. TPS 6. IAT 9. ABS

Operation
1. Connect the alligator in Figure 4 to the terminals of a battery clamps. Red clamp to the
positive terminal and black clip to negative parts see Fig.4 twenty (20) to thirty (21).
2. When the computer automatically turn submit the options menu that the equipment,
indicating the name of the option you choose.

3. To scroll through the menu options simply turn control knob Manual found in the upper right
part of the team.
4. Once you choose the option you want, you can press the red button (Figure 1 Section 2) to
turn and start the desired test or simulation.

Sensor Test:

1. TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)


MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure)
MAF (Mass Air Flow)
APP (Accelerator Pedal Position)
Oxygen sensor

For this example we will use the TPS Sensor: We locate the manual control knob see Fig.1
(part 3) TPS sensor option which indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the tester.

see the following screen (aproximatelly values):

First check the location of the 5 Vdc, negative (GND) and signal pins of the "TPS" sensor
check.
To start the clamps must connect the miniature "green (5 Vdc), Black (GND) and white sign reading"
from the sensor to be tested, see Figure (3-1) seven (5) eight parts (6) and nine (7).

Slowly vary the quantity measured by the sensor, for this example turn the TPS throughout
its route and check that both the voltage indicator as the percentage value to vary smoothly and
continuously driven by the sensor. For other sensors will have to vary the measured quantity:
Pressure, oxygen, accelerator pedal position, air flow amount, and others.

If you notice a jump in the readings during movement of the sensor, check it, and if
repeated, then the TPS for damage or wear and will need replacing.

2. Automotive Temperature Sensors:


We locate the manual control knob see Figure.1 (part 3) the option "Temperature Sensor"
which indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the tester.

First check the location of the negative (GND) and signal to the computer at the pins of the
temperature sensor to evaluate.
Connect the temperature sensor to the branch one (1) pliers black with "GND" fig. 3-1 (7)
and white clip Fig. 3-1 (5) to read to start the measurement sensors.

Heat temperature sensor and verify that the readings are the same as those indicated by the
vehicle service manual that owns the sensor.

If you notice any jump or lack of variation in the readings while heating the temperature
sensor, verify, and if repeated, then the temperature sensor is damaged or worn and needs to be
replaced.

3. Sensors CKP, CMP, ABS, VSS, KNOCK


Locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 3) sensor option to try, for this example we
will use the "CKP" which indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the team.

Here you can choose whether to test the sensor is Hall Effect Inductive or just rotate the
knob Figure 1 part 2.

For Hall effect sensors must use the fig green clip. 3-1 (part 6) to connect the sensor supply pin
check.

To measure the signal emitted by the sensor you should use the white clip signal reading equipment
fig. 3-1 (part 5) and the black clamp "GND" Figure 3-1 (part 7) both were connected to the pin of
the sensor to assess

Rub a metal sensor.

It is noted that the account increases the computer screen, sound a "beep" and will indicate the
minimum and maximum voltage reached by the signal from the sensor each time you rub the metal.
For inductive sensors, try to have a resistance of 190 to 250 ohm between signal pins, this
preferably room temperature.

If you notice that the account does not increase on the screen, verify, and if repeated, then the
sensor for damage or wear and will need to replace.

4. Valve IAC 4-6 wires:


We locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 3) the option "IAC 4-6 pin" which
indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the tester.

To enable this option to use the button located on top of fig.1 tester (part 2) and prompt you
to connect the branch number one (1) See Figure (3-1)

Press the push button, Figure 1 (part 2) to the top right to activate the test again. The
following screen will appear:

IAC (4–6pines)

Connector "IAC" located in the connector one (1) plugs see Fig. 3-1. The tester automatically
detects which type of IAC valve is connected (4, 5, or 6 cables) and generate the necessary signals
to make it work.
Progressively rotate the manual control knob located at the top, fig. 1 (part of 3).
If detected while examining jams or malfunctions, it should perform preventive maintenance.
If this is not enough to solve the problem of the valve must be replaced.
The tester is also able to detect if there is any problem with electric level in the valve and will
indicate the following:

Preventive Maintenance Rotary Valve IAC (4-wire):


When it is required to thoroughly clean the IAC valve, must disarm completely. First must
measure the height at which the rod is located. The valve is then connected to the tester to extend
its rod until it comes out completely.
The valve should be cleaned with a mild solvent until all the old grease completely dry out.
The stem and spring cleaned the same way and then the stem is lubricated.
After cleaning reassembling the valve using the equipment; you just have to perform reverse
the disassembly procedure, being careful not to damage the stem guide.

5. Electromagnetic valve IAC (2-3 wire):


Locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 5) the option "IAC 2-3 pin" which
indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the team.

Connect the red clip of 12 Vdc. Fig. 3-1 (part 9) and the yellow clamp output power fig. 3-1 (part 8)
to the IAC valve.
Turn the manual control until you see that the valve opens and closes completely.
If detected while examining jams or malfunctions, it should perform preventive maintenance.
If this is not enough to solve the problem of the valve must be replaced.

Preventive maintenance of the IAC valve Electromagnetic (2-3 wires):


When it is required to thoroughly clean the IAC valve, you have to make it blink several times
while he applies a mild solvent to remove as much waste as possible.
Once removed the waste, make blink several times but this time the lubricant solution of their
choice applied.
After cleaning remove excess lubricant and recheck operation.

Remember not to set the machine at 100% for 30 seconds longer times.

6. EGR valve Electromagnetic and Electronic throttle body:


It locates with manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 5) the option to use, for example
the EGR valve will appear on the screen indicate the following:

Connect the red clip of 12 Vdc. Fig. 3-1 (part 9) and the yellow clamp output power fig. 3-1 (part 8)
to the "EGR" check valve as is the model

Some EGR and all bodies electronic potentiometer type include acceleration sensors which can be
checked with the machine simultaneously with the opening and closing of the piece to be checked.
This will require connecting them the green, white and black clamps the branch 1, Figure 3-1
portions 6, 5 and 7 respectively.
Turn the manual control until you see the piece opens and closes completely.
If you notice a jump in the readings of the indicator valve position during opening and closing of it,
check it, and if repeated, then the piece is damaged or wear and will need replacing.

If detected while examining jams or malfunctions, it should perform preventive maintenance. If this
is not enough to solve the problem of the valve must be replaced.

Preventive Maintenance:

7. Injector Automotive and Pulse Generator:


The function "Injector" can be used for only one injector at a time, while the function "Pulse
Generator" can be used for up to 8 injectors simultaneously.
We locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 3) the option to use, such as "injectors":

Inyectores

Connect the output power cable with miniature forceps fig.3 yellow (part 8) and the clamp
connector 12 Vdc Red color. fig.3 (part 9) to the injector. In case of being simultaneously 2 or more
injectors must be connected in parallel.
After this work should start injector heard, otherwise, check the connection.
You can vary the RPM working nozzle through manual control knob located at the top of Figure 1
(part 3).

8. Generator CKP
We locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 3) the option "CKP Generator"
which indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the tester.

To enable this option to use the button located on the top of the unit fig.1 (part 2)
He then prompted to connect the branch number one (1) See Figure (3-1)

After connecting this branch we press the button at the top to enter a sub-menu where the
manual control knob fig. 1 (part 3) Choose from three (3) options A) 36-1, B) and C 40-1) 60-2
teeth, for which the following screen will appear:

Choose the equipment desired combination teeth, press the Red button fig. 1 (part to start
generating pulses.
Connect the yellow clamp fig. 3-1 (part 8) to any of the CKP connector pins that go to the
ECU and check the relay and the fuel pump is activated and start firing injectors and coils.
To disable this option, you must press the red button for 5 seconds.

9. Simulator Sensors

We locate the manual control knob see Fig.1 (part 3) option you want to use simulator which
indicate us the LCD screen is located on top of the tester.

After connecting this branch we press the button at the top to enter the signal was chosen to
simulate.

It must first verify the pin that takes the reading of the signal branch connector coming from
the computer to simulate sensor connector
The clamps on the ends of the branches fig. 3-2 (parts 16 and 17) is the one we will use to
enter the simulation signal connectors branches coming from the computer.
With manual control knob fig. 1 (part 3) may vary the terms of the signal to enter, adjusting
the signal at its discretion.
These simulations are intended to admit you to the ECU a real signal, in good condition, to
see if there is any discrepancy between the signal sent by the computer and the signal received by
the computer, so as to verify the behavior of the vehicle with a sign this right.
