HOMEWORK: MEDICAL SPECIALTIES WRITTEN

REPORT
Hello good morning My name is Diego Josue Parada Diaz and I am a pediatrician.
before I continue I want to tell you a little about pediatrics, because a pediatrician
is to be a caregiver of children as I take care of the medical care of children and
adolescents from birth to 18 years and even up to 21 years but that depends on
each doctor, and we must have a certain feeling that allows us to understand them
and in turn communicate with them, that where they commonly say they find only
noise
but it is not only enough to evaluate, diagnose and treat health problems,
pediatricians must be able to understand and capture unusual trends in the physical
development of children because we must recommend and warn parents or
caregivers of any unusual development that may occur.
Having said this, I can tell you why I decided to specialize in pediatrics, well the
reason is simple: while I was growing up I realized how many children suffered or
were infected with different diseases, fortunately most of them could be treated but
there were others who were not as lucky and I wondered what I could do to help
the little ones to have a good health, that's when I decided to become a doctor and
specialize in pediatrics, because that way I could help take care of their health and
try at all costs that these boys and girls could grow up without having a disease that
would hinder their growth and social life.
The place where I work is the National Hospital "San Juan de Dios" in San Miguel,
at the beginning it was a little difficult to get used to the place because it was a new
environment, also influenced a kind of hostility from some coworkers because they
did not know me, but as time went by that was changing because we got to know
each other and little by little they were accepting me, It was also quite interesting
to see the variety of patients that I have been attending these days and how with
time, thanks to the fact that the parents were attentive to their children, they
recovered and I discovered that feeling of happiness that invades one every time a
patient thanks you for your care and advice.
the patients I see vary a lot: I usually see boys and girls from 2 to 18 years old and
their personality and physique vary a lot, sometimes they are small, shy, tall, dry,
chubby, angry, impatient, talkative, curious, sometimes I have had that feeling that
it is like playing the lottery and thanks to that the days are never boring.
and some of the medical instruments that I usually use to diagnose or treat a patient
can be :
neonatal incubators: it is a closed medical equipment, which consists of a
transparent hood that allows isolating the patient without losing visual
contact with him, in order to provide an environment with temperature and
pre-established conditions to promote the development of the newborn
(premature, term or sick).

Baby scales: A baby scale or baby scale is a mechanical or electronic device

designed specifically for weighing babies, so they have a large and
comfortable tray to accommodate the baby.
pediatric thermometers: It is an instrument whose main function is to
measure body temperature and find out if the patient has a fever.

pediatric oxygen masks: these are soft, clear plastic devices that cover the
patient's mouth, nose and chin. Designed for use with oxygen cylinders or
concentrators and can provide optimal oxygen therapy.
