Accomplishment Report on the Implementation of an
Adapted/Contextualized Lesson Plan/WHLP

Briones (2020), DepEd Secretary, emphasized that the basic education

learning continuity plan in the time of Covid-19 is the response of the
department to the challenges posed by Covid-19 in the field of education.
She pointed out that education must continue whatever the challenges and
difficulties faced now and in the future. Hence, the Department of
Education (DepEd) keeps its stand and finds ways to deliver quality and
responsive education to the learners.
Republic Act No. 10533 also known as the Enhanced Basic Education
Act of 2013 learning resources as one of the curriculum support systems in
the teaching- learning process. More so, it states that DepEd shall make
education learner- oriented and responsive to the needs, cognitive and
adaptive to cultural capacity, the diversity of the learners, school, and
community.
With these, teachers are encouraged to localize or indigenize resource
materials based on their respective educational and social contexts in order
to realize the vision and mission of the department. Thus, Kasiglahan Village
Elementary School (KVES) adheres and puts forward to produce and utilize
contextualization in the teaching- learning process.
KVES applies contextualization in the formulation and writing of
Weekly Home learning Plans (WHLPs) in all subjects as much as possible.
Where the teacher- in – charge utilized some pictures of sceneries found
within the locality and constructed a self- made reading text about it. With
that, learners could be able to relate in the learning process and grasp the
concepts easily.
Furthermore, the said contextualized WHLP as well as its other
supporting file was also shared to other teachers teaching similar subject
area in order to promote collaboration and synergy.
