THE STRIKING TECHNIQUES

Striking techniques are the method of using your body as a weapon and striking the fatal
parts of the opponent. Below are some of the techniques that you could use including the advice
where this become most effective strike. Can you demonstrate other techniques?

Knifehand- The fingers are pulled down to the little finger making a straight line with the hand.
The thumb is tucked down. This technique is effective in striking the head, throat, neck, kidney,
and groin. Use the base of little finger for chopping.
Spearhand- the methods are the same with knifehand. Use the tip of the fingers as a dagger.
Very effective in striking soft areas like windpipe, eyes, solar plexus, kidney, neck, and groin.

Bearhand-  Fingers are tightly widely open. Use the tip of the fingers in striking the face and
groin. Very effective if you have enough nails for claws.
Palmheel- The fingers are curled tightly at the middle. Use the base of the hand as the weapon in
striking the face, solar plexus, head, and groin.

Fist-  a tightly close finger. The basic of all punching.  Effective in striking the all parts of the
body. Use the two knuckles first and twist at the point of impact for fatal effect.
Eagle’s claw- the four fingers and thumb are tightly open. Very effective for chocking.

Two Finger Dagger- Two fingers are tightly straight. Use the two fingers in striking the eyes.

Turn upright to strike the hole of the nose.


One Finger Dagger- Use the tightly pointed finger to strike the eye, windpipe, ear, and other
soft areas.

Elbow- fast, powerful, and hard to stop. You can use the entire elbow or just the point of the
elbow. Very effective technique in a close combat.
 Knee- powerful in close combat. Very effective in striking the groin. Muay Thai uses the knee
as primary technique. Effective also against block from a low kick.
Kicks-  The signature of Taekwondo. Advance taekwondo Jins can perform kick faster than 
their punches. The toes are tightly straight. Use the instep (see insert picture) when striking.
NEVER bend your big toe in striking. This technique is very powerful and hard to stop. 
Taekwondo is known because of   its acrobatic kicks. In Kyurogi (sparring), players uses 95% of
kicks to win the match.
