Although Harland Sanders passed away in 1980, he continues to play a significant role in
the company's branding and advertising. Colonel Sanders, as he was formerly known,
serves as a metonym for the business. KFC, a shortened version of its name, was adopted
by the company in 1991. However, as of April 2007, all signage, packaging, and
advertisements for the company now use its original name, Kentucky Fried Chicken. The

One of the biggest fast-food chains in the world, McDonald's has catered to people's

Donald in San Bernardino, California, in 1940, launching this burger company. Prior to

previously owned a hot dog stand and initially sold barbecued hot dogs. But in 1948, the
eatery was shut down before being reopened to serve hamburgers, French fries, and
milkshakes. The brothers start franchising their restaurant in 1954 as it starts to become
increasingly well-known. The first franchisee, Neil Fox, was chosen, and the following eatery
was opened in Fresno, California. After obtaining the McDonald's franchise outside of
California in 1955 as an entrepreneur and milkshake mixer salesman, Roy Kroc opened his
first McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, which eventually led to the creation of the
McDonald's Corporation. In 1958, the restaurant made good progress and achieved its goal

OPINION

1. McDonald company is smart in attracting employees to work in the company

because McDonald ensures the safety of employees by providing insurance in the event of
something untoward.

2. McDonald’s efforts by conducting employee training programs can produce

employees who are experienced in job management in McDonald companies.

3. When a new joiners work at McDonald’s, they will be given basic equipment such as
work uniforms. This creates uniformity in the organization and this equipment can also
symbolize a collaboration among employees at the same time can strengthen service to
customers and can reap a lot of profit from clever initiative by this company.

4. KFC provides many menu options suitable for this target group such as KFC Super
Jimat Box and student card discounts that these young people can enjoy when visiting KFC
restaurants. This target group does not have a large income or those who are not too
dependent on their parents. In addition, the development of ethnic diversity causes KFC to
become more creative in producing menus. For example, KFC's Sawadeekrunch which is
inspired by the taste of Thai food and KFC Spicy Gochujang Crunch which is based on the
taste of Korean food. The addition of other menus than usual can attract the interest of users
to try it.

5. KFC also sponsors several entertainment shows in Malaysia to further expand its
marketing influence. Shows with high viewership ratings in line with the general public's
entertainment tastes have been sponsored such as Maharaja Lawak Mega, Mentor Millenia
and Gegarvaganza. This approach is very good in terms of advertising in addition to typical
advertising in the mass media and also KFC's efforts in advertising their products on social
media.
