FOURTH UNIT TEST IN EsP – 8

Name: ______________________________________ Date: ______ Score: _____

PART II: PERFORMANCE/PRODUCT/UNDERSTANDING TYPE: (50 pts.)

I. SITUATIONAL: Read the statements below and reflect. Then, answer the following questions
as directed. Justify your answer in one paragraph for 5 pts. each (10pts).

1. The bullies in your school are the headaches of the school officials. How can you help
change the negative behavior of these bullies into positive ones without getting any violent
reactions from them?

As their schoolmate, I think the least thing I could do is to model the right
behavior of being a student because I believe they might follow what they see.
In addition, I would give them pieces of advice, engage them in physical
activities and befriend them.
2. Accidentally, you found out that your classmate resorts to extortion because of his/her
family’s need for the money to sustain their family needs. What can you do to help him or
her?

I understand what she’s going through, but her solution to the

problem is bad and as his classmate, I would advise him privately
that extortion doesn’t help resolve his family’s problem. I would offer
some help and check him from time to time.

II. ESSAY: Explain the following quotes with a minimum of 3 sentences for 5 points each. (10
pts)

1. “If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.” – Dalai Lama
XIV

I believe that this gives advice to the people who give nothing
but harm to others. In all ways, helping people should be the first
thought of a person once he’ll see a needy. Extend help to other
people if you can and always spread positivity to them.

2. “I shall pass through this life but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness
I can show to my fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I
shall not pass this way again.”. – Etienne de Grellet
Doing good things to other people is satisfactory and one shouldn’t stop himself from
doing it. Everything will be forgotten but the good works that a person has done cannot
be forgotten. If you have the power to help others, do not waste that opportunity and do
it.
III. ANALYSIS: Read and understand the question below. Elaborate your answer in 5
sentences for 10 pts.

1. How can bullying and violence be prevented at school to cultivate a peaceful learning
environment?

As a student, I think the most important way to prevent violence at

school is through setting rules, regulations, and disciplines because, in this way,
students have something to follow and if they won’t, consequences should be
applied. Schools should educate their students on the effects of bullying and raise
awareness among others.

III. ILLUSTRATION: (20 pts.)

A. Think of a symbol that best represents yourself. Draw it in the box and then,
provide a short explanation about it with a minimum of 5 sentences.

EXPLANATION

I see myself as a blank canvas, ready to paint something new every day. Like the

canvas, I am waiting to be used and to be filled out with a new portrait. It represents

patience and willingness which I believe it describes myself.
