COURSEWORK ASSESEMENTS:

The coursework assessments are as below:

ASSISGNMENT

 Assignment 1: Reflective journal (individual) – 25%

b. Lead a discussion on the topic (5%)
c. Kahoot /Quizzes, Games Based Learning (5%)

 Assignment 2 (pair/group) – 35%


a. Report on problem-based project (25%)
b. Presentation (10%)

FINAL ASSESSMENT – 40%


 Final assessment will be individual assignments consist of two (2) questions or
more.
 It can be in a form of short essay or case study of an actual situation in an
organization.
 It will be an application of knowledge to demonstrate understanding and ability to
practice them in an organizational setting.

ASSIGNMENT 1 : REFLECTIVE JOURNAL (25%) – INDIVIDUAL

 Each student/pair will choose one topic from the syllabus.


 To avoid redundancy of topic, each pair will submit their topic in the group
WhatsApp.
 Based on the selected topic, search journal articles and other relevant materials
and critically review it.
 Present your review in class and submit your written essay.
 Duration of presentation is within 5-10 minutes
 Number of slides should be less than 10 slides only.
 Student is required to conduct activities after the presentation such as
kahoot, padlet, role-play, board or card, puzzle or any suitable game-based
learning (GBL).
 Please submit the details of the GBL activities for approval a week before your
presentation.
 For the GBL to be effective, all students are required to make necessary
preparation for the activities (read relevant material pertaining to the topic) before
class.
 Marks for the GBL are accumulative and will be counted in 5%.

ASSIGNMENT 2 (10%) – PAIR – PROBLEM-BASED REPORT

1. Task:
 You are required to identify an organization for the subject of your study.
 Examine the issues/crises related to the organization. The issues could be in the
area of crisis communication, image and reputation, corporate leadership,
branding, marketing communication etc.
 Interview the key person relevant to the issue you are investigating and analyse
the findings.
 Provide your recommendation to solve the issue.

2. Essay structure:
As a guideline, your report should reflect these elements:

1. Overview
 Provide a brief introduction about the organization and the key person that you
are interviewing.
2. Issue/problem
 Describe the issue in detail and review the corporate communication aspects
relevant to the issue.
3. Critical analysis
 Discuss the findings of the interview.
 Employ a communication model to explain your argument.
 Discuss the implication of this issue to the organization.
 Provide your recommendation (communication strategies) based on the
analysis of the findings.

3. Please provide citation or academic reference where necessary and comply
with APA writing style.
4. Plagiarism is an academic crime. Therefore, a complete citation must be
presented to the quotations, Paraphrasing, or ideas taken from the / source
other than the authors of the report itself.

5. Assignment should be in English or Bahasa Malaysia. Please proofread your


assignment before submitting.

6. Submission:
i. The final report MUST be submitted no later than TWO WEEKS after the
presentation date.
ii. The file of the assignment MUST be named/labelled based on the course code &
session-assignment, type-your matric number as example given below.
iii. Please upload your report in UUMOL under the Turnitin platform. No other
platforms (Folder, Forum, email, Whatsapp or Telegram) will be accepted.
iv. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT THE WRONG ASSIGNMENT TO THIS COURSE’S
PORTAL. Always check before you submit your assignments.

ASSIGNMENT 3 (35%) - PAIR

1. Task:
Each pair will identify a specific crisis / issue involving an organization. You may find the
crisis/issue from any reliable and credible source or publication (citation and reference to
the source is a must). Discuss and analyse the crisis/issue from corporate communication
perspective based on what have been discussed in class. Please provide your
recommendation or idea on how to manage or overcome the crisis/issue.

2. Topic
Propose your topic based on the crisis / issue and the contextual approach.

3. Essay structure:
As a guideline, your report should reflect these elements:
i. Overview
 Provide a brief introduction to the problem you are analysing. You may also
want to provide an introduction to the organisation studied if relevant.
ii. Issue/problem
 Describe the problem in detail from corporate communication perspectives and
highlight the important points.
iii. Suggestion for problem solving
 Suggest new strategies from the corporate communication perspectives to
solve the issue. You may also provide your own idea but you need to justify
them.
iv. Conclusion
 Summary of your analysis and recommendation.

4. Writing format:

appendices, figures etc. (Please attach the article)
