As a student nurse, how can you correlate lifelong

learning to studying nutrition and diet therapy?
For me, lifelong learning is like a continuous learning that can enhance our understanding of the world
around us, provide us with more and better opportunities and improve our quality of life. Lifelong
learning can renew, self-motivation, recognize personal interests and goals, improve in other personal
and professional skills, improve self-confidence and etc. Also, lifelong learning is a form of self-initiated
education that is focused on personal development. Lifelong learning is so essential because it enhance
the brain of the nurses and the student nurses because it gives information, knowledge, wisdom,
guidance and education. The importance of lifelong learning in nursing is that it gives nurses the critical-
thinking and problem-solving skills needed to resolve issues they may encounter while taking care of
patients. It can also build strong collaborative relationships with patients and co-worker, improve
patient outcomes, decrease mortality rates, reduce the chance of errors and etc.

This can also help us student nurses to be equipped with knowledge someday as what we are doing now
by learning through online class, we are having lifelong learning activities. There will be a really big
benefit if us nurses are engaged to lifelong learning activities because we will be able to learn every day
and also improve every day because nurses play an active and important role in care. The nurse is
normally the first person the patient interacts with and we are in charge of evaluating patients. So,
lifelong learning is really important in our profession because we are also playing an integral part of the
broad measures of care and health progress of our patients. it helps me know more about something
that I don’t know before and it gives me more knowledge. As a student nurse I can use this knowledge
to share with others and not just for myself but also to my patients someday because if I will engage in
lifelong learning, I will be able to also tell my patients about what I learned so they can also be equip
with knowledge as I am. Patients can also benefit from this because we are also be able to give the
quality care they needed and we will also be able to improve safety as we take care of them.
