Dr Goretti Faya Ornia is a graduate in Translation and Interpretation (English and
Germ an) from the University of Valladolid, Spain, having specialised in m edical and
technical translation at University J aum e I, Spain, and the University of Seville, Spain. She
works as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Departm ent of English, Germ an, and French
Philology of the University of Oviedo, Spain, where she also received her PhD. She has
published several papers on m edical language, com m unicative problem s in the m edical
environm ent, text typologies, contrastive linguistics, and the use of corpora in translation.
