Dr Goretti Faya Ornia is a graduate in Translation and Interpretation (English and
Germ an) from the University of Valladolid, Spain, having specialised in m edical and
technical translation at University J aum e I, Spain, and the University of Seville, Spain. She
works as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Departm ent of English, Germ an, and French
Philology of the University of Oviedo, Spain, where she also received her PhD. She has
published several papers on m edical language, com m unicative problem s in the m edical
environm ent, text typologies, contrastive linguistics, and the use of corpora in translation.

Héctor Hernández Lázaro is a graduate in Physiotherapy from the University of

Valladolid, Spain, having specialised in osteopathic m anual therapy at the University of
Zaragoza, Spain, and sports physiotherapy at the University of Alcalá de H enares, Spain.
He is a Lecturer at the Departm ent of Surgery, Ophthalm ology, Otolaryngology, and
Physiotherapy of the University of Valladolid, and has carried out his professional clinical
labour since 20 10 in the State Healthcare Service of Castilla y León, Spain.
