I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of forty-five minutes period, the students are expected to:
A. Cognitive: Identify the parts and function of the compound microscope.
B. Psychomotor: Recognize the major parts of the compound microscope.
C. Affective – Discuss the importance of the compound microscope.

ll. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: The Parts and Function Of The Compound Microscope S7LT-IIa-1

and Uses. Retrieved from https://laboratoryinfo.com/compound-microscope/
Materials: Manila Paper, White Board Marker/Chalk Board, Graphic Organizer, Video (IM) and
Worksheets
Values Integration: Learning about compound microscope means appreciating small things.

lll. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities/Preliminary Activities

 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Brief Introduction About Compound Microscope
 Video Presentation About Compound Microscope

B. Lesson Proper
ACTIVITY (Group Activity)
Students will be grouped into 3 and they will discuss about the abovementioned topic within 5
minutes.
To urge the student to participate they will be graded with the following criteria below:

Criteria Percentage
1. Group Effort and Cooperation 20 %
2. Knowledge On The Topic 15%
3. Individual Contribution 15%
Total 50%
Note: The realization of the aforementioned criteria will be determined on the
analysis portion which is the oral questioning.
ANALYSIS (Oral Questioning)
The teacher will asks questions to the students about the topic and select random students
within the group. If the student fails to answer the question his/her co-member can help.
1. What is the major function of the compound microscope?
2. What is the importance of a compound microscope?
2. What are the three major parts of a compound microscope?
3. What is the function of the magnification parts?
4. What is the function of the illuminating parts?
5. What is the function of the mechanical parts?
6. Give atleast 1 example of a part of a compound microscope? (A minimum of 5 students will
be asked the same question)
ABSTRACTION (Board Work)
The teacher will provide an illustration of the compound microscope which will be pasted on the
board. Thereafter, the teacher will select random student to label the parts and the rest will
elaborate its function.
APPLICATION (Oral Quiz Bee)

 The teacher will prepare atleast 10 questions for the oral quiz bee game.
 Group selection will be based on the group selected from (B. Lesson Proper)

Mechanics
1. This is an oral multiple choice type test. A teacher will ask a question to the students
which will be answerable by the choices provided.
2. Student who want to answer the question will raise the white card. First to raise the WC
will be the first one to answer the question. If the first group failed to answer the other group
can steal.
3. The group who will get the highest scores will win this oral quiz bee game.
4. Every question has a time allotment of 30 seconds.
