Training Finish Mill (Part 3)
PART 3
1) Diaphragm:
Shell liners (lifters) Shell liners (Classifying/ ripple)
Intermediate Discharge
Venting screen Diaphragm/ Diaphragm
partition
A) Purpose of Diaphragm:
To separate both the chambers
Not to allow media to mix.
Assist to trap the nibs/ worn out medias from the 1st chamber to 2nd chamber.
For ventilation and transport of materials.
C) Discharge diaphragm:
The size can be same with intermediate diaphragm or smaller (8 – 10mm)
The size must be larger than the smallest media in 2nd chamber.
D) Slegten Diaphragm:
Control valves/ scopes to transfer cement from 1st chamber to 2nd chamber.
2) Liners:
A) Lifter:
Life span around 5 years
Lift the medias up and let the medias free fall for crushing. As a result, the clinker
is broken into fine fragment and the wear rate is high.
B) Classifying/ ripple:
Life span 10 – 12 yaers
To classify the grinding media from the intermediate diaphragm to the discharge
diaphragm from big to small.
3) Clinker:
Clinker under burnt
Clinker Over Burnt
Clinker Reducing
A) Litre/ weight:
Litre/ weight is the calculation of the weight of the clinker below 5mm in size in 1
litre container.
To get the litre/ weight value:
Sieve the clinker and collect the clinker size below 5mm.
Fill the collected clinker in a 1 litre container until the level.
Weigh the content of the container and we will get the litre/ weight value.
The litre/ weight value is to determine how is the clinker burnt or formed ideally. The
value 1120 – 1200 litre wight is considering good burnt clinker because the clinker is
soft and easy to grind.
D) Clinker Reducing:
Causes:
Less Oxigen in the burning zone
Brownish in the nodule core (Fe reduce to Ferric: the present of ferric can be
traced by using Fehling A+B Solution Change from pinkish to redish)
