Impact of the semiconductor shortage on Canon’s MFP

consumable products

As a valuable customer we appreciate your continued use of Canon products.

Due to the ongoing global shortage of semiconductor components, Canon is currently experiencing challenges
in procuring specific electronic components that are used in our consumable products for our multifunction
printers (MFP). These components perform such functions as detecting remaining toner levels.

To ensure you enjoy a continuous and reliable supply of consumables, we have chosen to supply consumable
products without the semiconductor component until normal supply resumes.

While there is no negative impact on print quality when using consumables without electronic components,
certain ancillary functions, such as the ability to detect toner levels, may be affected.

The toner levels displayed on your machine may not be correct and the remaining toner level may suddenly
change from 100% to 0%.

When 0% is shown, please replace with a new toner bottle.

Please press [I Agree] to continue printing.

Please do not press [Cancel] but if you have already pressed it, follow the steps below -

1. Take out the toner from the machine

2. Install the toner back in the machine
3. Press [I Agree] to continue printing

The toner levels displayed on your machine may not be correct and the remaining toner level may suddenly
change from OK to Empty.

When Empty is shown, please replace with a new toner bottle.

For the following models please follow the instructions below if an error message appears after inserting your
toner –

The following screen may appear when using toner that does not include the electric components.

Please press [OK] to continue printing.

Please do not press [Stop] but if you have already pressed it, follow the steps below -

When None is shown, please replace with a new toner bottle.
