1. Do you think values should be universal? Why? (5 pts)

YES, because all people should put in their mind that values is what we need in order to
communicate and socialize with other people nicely and politely. Values is one of the most
important ethical guidelines for us people of this society. Without values, everyone of us
will not learn on how to treat other people on how they want to treat them. Values should
be universal because this will help people to understand one another. Value can help us be
spared from any danger and chaos if we do not value one’s personality and capability.
INTEGRATION (Put this on a one full page separate sheet of bond paper)

Do you think Filipinos are open to change or afraid to go out of their usual practices because of
some personal and communal reasons? How do you say so? (20 pts)

Yes, I think so, because even me, myself before is afraid to go out in my own usual practices
because I’m afraid to show to other people what I’ am and who I’ am before. But when I
settled in college, I tried to come out in my own comfort zone to explore new ideas, new
personalities, new experiences and many others to enable myself try other practices that can
make myself comfortable with the people surrounds me.

Look around you. How many people do you think are settling? Probably a hell of a lot.
People settle into okay relationships, okay jobs, okay friends, and an okay life. Why? Because
okay is comfortable. Okay pays the bills, and provides a warm bed at night. Some people are
fine with okay, and guess what? That's okay. But okay is not thrilling, it isn't passion, it's not
life changing or unforgettable. Okay is not the reason you risk absolutely everything you've
got for the smallest chance that something absolutely amazing could happen.

At a certain point we need to grow up; we need to look inside ourselves for our inner
guidance. There are things most human beings know; they just don't want to know them.
They know deep down that certain thing in their lives are working or aren't working, that
certain parts of their lives are functional and others are dysfunctional. But sometimes, as
human beings, we don't want to know what's not convenient. So, we pretend not to know.

Life is not a competition. Each one is on their own journey. Live according to your choices,
capacity, values and principles. The sooner you step away from your comfort zone you'll
realize that it really wasn't all that comfortable. Be willing to step outside your comfort zone
once in a while; take the risks in life that seem worth taking. The ride might not be as
predictable if you'd just planted your feet and stayed put, but it will be a heck of a lot more
interesting. My experience is that you cannot have everything you want but you can have
anything you really want. You just need to decide what it is and the comfort zone. If you
want to be excellent at something, you must move away from your comfort zone, overcome
doubt, setbacks and failure. Never give up. Keep plugging away and being persistent. One
day, success will be yours.
