General Timeline

- Orna takes place in 993 DCE. 11 years ago, ‘Mammon’, a great deity born of mankind’s
sins and hubris, started to make happen a huge world-changing event called ‘The Falling’, it
is not really known how

- Balor mystic ‘Apollyon’ foresaw this and tried to stop it by destroying the lands, especially
Lyonesse, an unorthodox solution to the problem which ended with him getting exiled from
Balor

- Apollyon continued with his plan and marched on Lyonesse with his followers (The
Heretics), but was defeated on the way by the great witch Morrigan, ensuring the Falling
went ahead, and she was then corrupted herself

- Falling ensured many monsters and banished groups returned, as well as changing people
and throwing Orna out of balance

- Many civilized factions, such as Annwn, Avalon, Lyonesse, the Elves, Nothren etc have a
sharp decline in power, except Balor, who thrive

- At some point a crazed witch called Carman comes with her three sons, raises an army of
statues and gargoyles, and starts causing even more chaos, nobody knows where she
came from

- Powerful individuals such as the founders of the four player factions (Great elemental gods,
mentioned below) and other kingdoms have been ‘tainted’ by the fallen. When the old gods
died, they muttered Mammon’s name, perhaps some sort of devotion to him

- Some such beings have used the falling to grow in strength – an example being the
Wyvern brothers, of who Tiamat is of (Although he is the weakest, his intelligence still makes
him the harder foe) (Tiamat also banished his brother, Typhon, to the underworld)

- As the falling carried on, great races like the Titans, dwarves and High Elves were almost
wiped out

- During all of this conflict, wars were started such as Annwn/Balor, Dokkalfar/Ljosalfar etc

Known Factions/Groups

Dragons

- The ‘Great Dragons’, Tiamat, Typhon are brothers, with Fafnir also presumably a brother
- It is unknown why these brothers are warring, but Tiamat is the one who is in charge
- Other minor unnamed dragons are ‘children of the great dragons’ but whether this
means they are literally the sons and daughters of Tiamat, Typhon and Fafnir, I’m not
sure
- Tiamat is named as a great dragon, but also a wyvern at other times, and has the same
sprite as a wyvern, so we can assume that dragons and wyverns are the same species
- The dragons killed Sir Balan, the brother of Sir Balin, which is why Balin seeks revenge
- Somehow, for some reason, in someway, Fafnir is cursed

Draconians

- Once led by Dracon to fulfil the Great Dragons’ wishes

- Created by the Dragons to protect them from the Fomorians and Humans

- Dragon power is the reason Draconian mages are so skilled

- Tiamat is the lord of both High and ordinary Draconians

High Draconians

- Created by Tiamat to be stronger than the draconians

- Supposedly created in simultaneously man and dragon’s image

Lizarr

- Not as uncivilized as they look, rulers and mages are seen

- Many variations of Lizarr can be seen

- Lizarr come from the sea, some say failed experiments of dragons

Fomorians

- One ruler is known to be called Fomor, appointed by a Balor King as a puppet

- Once a great, flourishing race, but they were enslaved to fight for Balor

Ankou

- Ankou was once a Balor noble, but he was exiled

- Reapers are the soldiers of Ankou, they are presumably also ex-Balor

Balor
- An unnamed Balor king exists, but there may be multiple

- Cerberus is the gatekeeper of Balor

- At war with Annwn

- Balor flourished after the falling, submitting themselves to evil deities, some say they even
contributed to the falling

- Nobles of Balor are extremely talented warriors

- Nyx was an assassin of Balor

- Balor are the undead legions of the underworld, and it is heavily implied they are allied with
demons and mammon

- Balor portal is a gate to the underworld, destroying them halts Balor’s advance

Ljosalfar

- Their king can be seen, seemingly unaffected by the falling, but it isn’t clear

- Known as the light elves of the bright sun, and they only come out during the day

- Flourished after the falling and banished the Dokkalfar to the underworld

Dokkalfar

- Both King and Queen of the Dokkalfar can be seen

- Once a proud race of elves, but their distaste of the sun meant they lost the war to the
Ljosalfar after the falling

- Dokkalfar are only seen out at night, when the moon is high

Dark Elves

- Strangely, a seemingly different race of elves to the Dokkalfar, much less prevalent, and
weaker, too

Woodland Elves

- An elven species of the woodland can be seen, but they are less pronounced than the
other five, and never venture out of their forest homes

Snow Elves
- A rare subspecies of Elf that live exclusively in the snow, less pronounced like their
woodelven kin

High Elves

- A fifth Elven species, on the brink of extinction, known members include Dalan and Sala

- Ancient elves wanted to become all-powerful, ended up creating Deity

- The High Elves once lived in the mountains, but the return of the dragons destroyed them.
Dalan and Sala look after those who remain

Dwarves

- The dwarves are nigh-extinct, but it isn’t really known why

- Dudley, a stubborn dwarf, still wanders the land

Gnomes

- Gnomes are not often seen, but they exist, one known member is Nolan, the master and
presumably their leader

Annwn

- ‘Crest of Annwn’ item suggests Annwn was at war with Fomorians

- Vowed to stop the Balor armies, same as Frozenguard

the Inferno Knights and Frozenguard from destroying the land in war

Stormforce

- Founded by Thor, the Storm God

- A new group of warriors that harness powers from the sky, no clear goal can be found

- One of the founding members of Stormforce, Storm Knight Gale, loses hope for Orna’s
wellbeing

him

- Housed the knights Finesse, Artice and Sir Balin

- Had a famed sorcerer, Merlin, but the falling also took him (His apprentice, Beatrice, still
searches for him)

- Had a famed bard, Aldon, a famed inventor, Cade, and a famed scholar, Gilles (Who
believes he can reverse the falling with his research)

- A fallen kingdom that once controlled Blademaster, Nekromancer, Omnimancer and

Inquisitor classes, but was eventually destroyed by the Balor armies
Lyonesse

- Used to be ruled by King Gradlon, who left Avalon, created Lyonesse, and then was exiled
from Lyonesse. Gradlon has had an adventure.

- A fallen kingdom that once controlled the Atlas Vanguard, Titanguard and Charmers
classes

Nothren

- One of Nothren’s important lords was Heimdall

- A viking/Norse themed faction

- The king of the Nothren at the time of the falling was named Borr, who left Nothren in
search of trinkets and treasure

- Freyr is from Nothren, as is Raider

Goblins

- One leader known to be celestial mage ‘Starlord’

- Many Goblin Lords can be found, indicating civilized goblin society

- Unclear whether Hobgoblin’s are allied with Goblins or if they are different races entirely

Morrigan’s Army

- Morrigan is a great witch of curse and plague, who defeated Apollyon before he could
stop the falling. It is unknown why
- Morrigan has several sisters: Sister Badb (A rogue/assassin), Sister Neman (A warrior)
and Sister Macha (A sorceress)
- The banshees are known to be followers of Morrigan
- It is unknown what Morrigan’s intentions are, or why she stopped Apollyon from
preventing the falling
- (One such theory of why she defeated Apollyon is that she has good morals, and did not
agree with Apollyon’s sacrifice of Lyonesse, but after the falling she was corrupted.)

Carman’s Army

- Carman travelled to the land of Orna with her three sons, but it isn’t known who they are
