SURGICAL PATHOLOGY REPORT

CLINICAL DETAILS: Right side MRM

SITE OF BIOPSY:

HISTOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS:
Right Breast Mass, Excision:
- Benign phyllodes tumor.
- NEGATIVE for malignancy.
- All lymph nodes show reactive changes

MICRO:
The sections show a well-circumscribed mass with a leaf-like architecture. There is no stromal overgrowth
or atypia. Proliferative activity is not readily apparent.

Gross:

Tissue received in formalin

Procedure : Right breast MRM
Labeled with the patient’s name oriented MRM specimen with [indicated short suture at superior margin
and long suture at lateral margin. The specimen measures 10cm (superior- inferior) x 14cm (medial -
lateral) x 10cm (anterior - posterior). The skin ellipse measure 9*7 cm. The everted nipple measures 3 x
2x2cm. The axillary tail measures 4 x 4x 3cm.
The specimen is serially sectioned from medial to lateral into multiple levels. The cut surface is tan-yellow
and remarkable for a Grayson white sold lesion– 6x6x5 cm, globular shapes margins. The lesion is located
in mainly in the last lower and upper quadrant.

The remainder of the uninvolved parenchyma is fatty, unremarkable, consists of 90% tan- yellow adipose
tissue and 10% white fibrous tissue. The upper outer quadrant/axillary tail is palpated and 7 lymph nodes
are identified ranging from 1.2x1.0 cm in maximum dimension.
All identified lymph nodes in their entirety and representative sections of the remaining specimen are
submitted
