g-minor
The title “sonata” is not by Donizetti and seems not entirely fitting for this piece. It’s
two parts are separated only by a fermata and a double barline; clearly they are
meant to be played more or less attacca as two parts of one piece.
The parts are not particularly difficult for either player (the section at measure 74ff
can be made easier for the violinist by minor modifications). It has also been played
on flute. Pianists can play the harp part; an arrangement for violin and guitar seems
a possibility as well. It lasts about 5 minutes.
