DESIGN FRAMEWORKS

Design has an impact on all aspects of human life in subtle and profound ways. Every
object is a result of design. Aesthetics are only one aspect of great design. It is the way
people use things, both visible and invisible, that contribute to great design.

7.1 Design Concept

The 30-story residential condominium is a sustainable architectural design intended to
become a story-telling structure. A home for families and residents that is also
environmentally friendly to all living things. A place of attraction, relaxation, recreation,
and employment opportunities.
Buildings were made up of various types of spaces that were organized based on the
behavioral patterns of the users' activities, which resulted in the proper circulation of the
facilities. The strategy could be much more visible in order to identify ongoing
development and progress.

7.1.1 Form Concept

The project would take the form of a classical block building with a large rectangular
plan, a flat roof, a helipad, and an exterior rich in modern and minimal details. The
building's exterior is divided into multiple levels, each of which represents a different unit
of residence. Minimalism is commonly used in design to achieve simplicity in form,
materiality, detail, color, space, and cleanliness. Canopies for sun and rain protection are
also rectangular in shape.

7.1.2 Structural Concept

In terms of design structures, the proposed 30-storey residential building concept is
modern architecture and environmentally friendly.
The majority of the materials to be used in the project are readily available building
materials such as reinforced concrete, load bearing walls, concrete hollow blocks, beams,
columns, and other structurally related materials and systems to build the walls, all of
which must be rodent proof. The project would also make use of steel, glass, concrete, and
plastic.
The system would be built with a mix of reinforced concrete and structural steel.
Reinforced concrete columns are also suitable because they have already been tested over
time. Because of its low cost, flexibility, strength, durability, versatility, and ability to be
customized in a variety of shapes, structural steel will be used. The structures' safety must
be in accordance with the Structural Codes of the Philippines.

7.1.3 Architectural Character
Modern architecture would be the architectural style chosen for the proposed project.
The building's personality demonstrates the freedom to design, explore new ideas outside
of the box, and recreate spaces.

7.1.4 Fire Fighting System

For the safety of the users of the proposed 30-story residential condominium, a fire-
fighting system would be installed in the project. The project would include a fire sprinkler
system, a smoke detector, and an emergency alarm.
In the event of an emergency or a fire, fire exits and firefighting signage were also
required to ensure the safety of the users. Fire hoses, fire alarms, and extinguishers would
also be provided and placed in appropriate locations.

7.1.5 Passive Cooling Techniques

The project will have a passive cooling technique that requires natural ventilations
such as windows and doors, and mechanical ventilations such as vents and pipes. Shading
is also provided such as canopies to shade windows from heat and rain. It helps the building
to have solar control.

7.1.6 Sanitary Systems

Sanitation's goal is to protect public health by collecting and treating human waste.
To achieve this goal, various systems have been developed around the world.
These systems differ in terms of how excreta is collected, stored, transported, treated,
and disposed of. The complexity and cost of construction, operation, and maintenance are
also determined by the type of sanitation system chosen. With the passage of the Ecological
Solid Waste Management Act, the responsibility for protecting not only public health, but
also the environment, has been transferred.

7.1.7 Electrical Systems

The electricity for the 30-story residential building comes from the Metro Manila
municipality's power supply. It would be linked to the Manila Electric Company, the
Philippines' largest private sector electric distribution utility company.
Emergency generators would also be installed to generate electricity in the event of
a power outage or other electrical problem.

7.1.8 Design Philosophy

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
-Leonardo da Vinci

3
This philosophy is closely related to the design concept because it emphasizes
simplicity while remaining functional. The structure was created to be efficient for all
living things that might use it in the future. It has been adapted to meet the minimum spatial
requirements and is thought to be suitable for individuals, couples, or families requiring
residency in Metro Manila.
We value simple things because they easily do everything we need and nothing we don't.
Simplicity is calming. It's based on the idea that being simple isn't boring; rather, it's
elegant.
