WHO WE ARE
Our mission
EquipKI is a life science community powered by lab managers, research technicians, and facilities
operation personnel. We collaborate to provide insight and feedback on some of the most critical
decisions we make when configuring a laboratory environment: selecting the right tools for the
job.
WRITING REVIEWS
If you’ve reviewed all the products in your lab, or there’s limited equipment in your lab you can
review equipment you haven’t used through research. This could involve asking others or
reading what others have said about the product on the internet and summarizing.
"The FlowCam is very effective for quick and reliable estimates of phytoplankton particles both
in natural and laboratory samples. Great device to study zooplankton grazing as it is possible to
estimate the amount of particles consumed and size range.
We’ve had this model for over 3 years and it’s still incredibly reliable. It’s user friendly and
efficient (good camera, good flow cells). Customer service is also fast and efficient."
● Copying and pasting of other reviews, you can use other reviews to construct your own
but please ensure you do some research on the product so that the opinion stated is your
own.
● Very short reviews, they minimum number of words should be 35 or 2 sentences long
● Completely made up reviews, please put some time and effort into understanding the
product and keep within our mission statement of producing honest reliable reviews.
BLOG POSTS
What to write and how many words - Minimum 400 words and maximum 1200.
It can be written on any lab based subject of your choosing, although please have the subject
matter signed off by Matt. The article should be accurate and opinions backed by facts/statistics
and references. It will be posted on the Equipki site and on our Linkedin page. It’s also good to
have the subject somehow linked to Equipki or our mission statement.
Some example subjects, Sustainability within the lab , how to look after/maintain specific lab
equipment (centrifuges), how to choose the best …. (incubator, grossing station) , importance of
collaboration within the scientific community (and how Equipki helps with that) , any trending
topic e.g., Lab supply chain issues, lab safety, lab sustainability…
SEO - this is preferable but not mandatory. If you’re able to incorporate good SEO into the article
this would be great, it’s a great skill to have/develop as most online articles will require this. This
could involve key words, backlinks ect.
