Controller Configuration

• In order to let the controller to connect to UDH,

the UDH port IP addresses have been designated
in plant.
– UDH1: 192.168.101.X
– UDH 2: 192.168.102.X
Here, X is consistent with the controller node
number.
• Controller node number and its redundant role
– Dual redundant controllers, their node
number difference is 100;
– Dual redundant controllers, the range of node
number is 1- 79 and 101 - 179;
– Smaller one is R role, bigger one is S role;

Master or Slave of Controllers
•The normal one or the first one to be
normal in structure (UDH connections and
IO connections) is master, another is
slave;
•If the two controllers are normal, the
master is active and the slave is standby
or initializing if its application code is
different from the master. The two
controllers get I/O information together from
their IO links;
•If the master is in “Lock stanby I/O”, the
case is rather complicated. For example, if
one controller is not full in IO connections, it
will be slave and the master become “Lock
standby I/O”;
•If there is not I/O configuration in
application code of controllers, the master
or slave is random; the master is in “Lock
standby I/O”.

Master and Slave Switching Of Controllers
•If the master is in “active” and the slave
is in “standby”, the master and the slave
can be switched arbitrarily from the DPU
commands ;
•In other cases, the master can not be
switched to the slave;
•If the master is in “active” and the slave
is in “initializing”, the slave can be
switched to master from the DPU
commands. But it is not recommended
when the unit is running (dangerous!).
Note: any faulty in structure of the
master will cause the master switching •The application code of the master can
to the slave. be modified online, but can not be
downloaded.
•The application code of the slave can
not be modified online, but can be
downloaded after importing from file.

Controller Software Upgrade For EDPU Controller

• Link the DPU with SENG;

• Upgrade Firmware, the controller is
“EDPU”; after upgrade, the controller will
reset automatically;
• Upgrade another controller;

Controller Properties – ControllerParam and
IOCardParam

• Link DPU with SENG;

• For OC4000 controllers and I/O modules, the two pages should be set specially
and ensure the two controllers have the same settings;
• Reboot the controller;

Pcode Files of A Controller
There is a fold for each controller, under the \data\controller fold, to put all
the Pcode files of the controller.

• This fold is generated automatically when the controller is started. If the

original type of the controller conflicts with the current controller, some issue
may occurs.
