Service precautions

1.1 General
General precautions
• Service is allowed only by a qualified service technician:
- in an acknowledged Barco service center (at Barco or a partner location), or
- at the end customer site.
• Take the necessary measures to prevent electrostatic discharges (e.g., wear an ESD strap connected to
ground).
• Make sure your workspace is flat and clean.
• It is advised to open the device in a dust-poor environment.

The first serviceable part is the NGS-D320.
This is your original ordered NGS-D320 Lite, NGS-D320 Pro, NGS-D320 Flex or NGS-D320 Flex Pro. This
device is delivered together with mains cable and external power supply.

3.1 Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance
There is no scheduled maintenance for the NGS-D320.

3.2 Storage conditions


Storage precautions
It is best to store the device in its original packaging in a room that does not exceed the storage conditions
mentioned in the technical specification.
Electrolytic capacitors:
The device needs to be powered on for a period of 24 hours at least once every 2 years to allow internal
electrolytic capacitors to be reformed. Failure to do so may lead to compromised reliability.

4.1 How to perform a software upgrade


Reference
You may refer to the “NGS-D320 User Guid”e or the “Software Release Notes” for more details on Software
upgrade.

Device Info menu


In this menu you can perform a general device setup.
Select the tab Device Info to start.

4.2 Software upgrade


How to perform a software upgrade ?
There are three methods to perform software upgrade:
1. Upgrade by uploading a .deb file
1. Press the link Browse for a local upgrade file and select the correct file.
2. Press Start upgrade (the button appears once you have selected your upgrade file).
3. The blue identification LED is lit during the upgrade.

4. Follow the upgrade status on the web interface.


5. The device will reboot when upgrade is done.
2. Upgrade from a repository via http link
1. Click on “Upgrade url” and fill in the http to the .deb file
2. Press Start upgrade
3. The blue identification LED is lit during the upgrade
4. Follow the upgrade status on the web interface
5. The device will reboot when upgrade is done.
3. Upgrade from USB stick
1. Put the .deb file on USB storage and insert it into one of the USB ports.
Upgrade starts automatically.
2. The blue identification LED is lit during the upgrade.
3. Wait until the identification LED is off.
4. Remove USB stick and power—cycle the device.

Troubleshooting

5.1 No video
If there is no video signal:
• Check the input syncs at encoder side.
• Check the LED next to the video connector (it should be green).
• Check the configuration at encoder side.
• Check the diagnostics at encoder side (how to interpret).
• Check the diagnostics at decoder side (how to interpret).
• Check the timing at decoder side.

5.2 No audio
If there is no audio signal:
• Check the audio on loop through connector at the encoder side.
• Check the configuration at the encoder side.
• Check the diagnostics at decoder side (how to interpret).

5.3 Keyboard & mouse


If the keyboard & mouse do not work:
• Check if the USB is connected at encoder side.
• Check if the decoder VNC client diagnostics:
- If the serverIP is empty:
◦ Check announced sdp
◦ Check association
◦ Check decoded video
- If the serverIP is not empty, it is connected erroneously:
Check network connectivity.
