communication. This includes anything from printed paper to digital data, as well as art,
journalism, instructional content, and a variety of other types of information. Anything that has
the ability to reach or influence people, such as phones, television, and the Internet, can be
termed media (Stoltzfus, 2020). There is some importance of media in our life according to
Almerja (2018) they said that a vast majority of people, all across the world, rely upon various
sources of media for keeping themselves updated on various on-going issues around the world.
Advancing Listening Comprehension Through Movies. Because there are no rules like in
grammar training, teaching listening comprehension is one of the most important and difficult
duties for any foreign language teacher. Safranj (2015) study was to see how much students
improved their listening comprehension by watching movies with and without subtitles, as well
as their attitudes toward this instructional method. The study conducted for over one academic
year. It was completed with the help of 38 students taught in English language private school in

The Effect of Watching Videos on Listening Comprehension of Iranian Intermediate EFL
Learners in Public Schools. Dehaki (2017) conducted a study to investigate the possibility of
learning listening skills by watching videos and examine the attitudes of students. Many studies
are available to illustrate the effectiveness of this study. In public schools of Iran, there is no
study exploring the attitude of students after using the method. After many years of education in
public schools, students are still not able to understand or to express their intention by using
English language. 75 male students of different public schools in Isfahan is selected randomly.
The Oxford Placement Test was used to ensure that individuals were equal, and 60 participants
with higher grades were chosen. Participants were given a pre- and post-test that contained 50
standardized TOEFL listening items to verify their understanding before and after treatment. The
findings showed that learners gained a positive attitude and improved their listening skills
