LOCAL AREA NETWORK PROPOSAL

(GROUP ASSIGNMENT)

Students are required to prepare a Local Area Network (LAN) proposal for Small Medium
Companies (SMEs). Form a group of 3-4 members.

The CEO of Solaris Technologies Sdn Bhd is interested in providing internet access to all
computers in the company. The company currently has 15 employees divided between 4
different departments: Marketing (3 employees), Finance (6 employees), Production (2
employees) and Administration (4 employees). As new IT Officers, your job is to develop a
proposal for a new wired and wireless infrastructure for Solaris Technologies Sdn Bhd.

The proposal should include the following content: (7-10 pages) not including cover page.

Students are required submit 4(four) different assignments.

a. Report -Proposal (minimum 7 pages and maximum 10 pages) – 15% marks
b. Video presentation of the proposal (15 - 20 minutes) – 15% marks
c. Presentation slides
d. Packet Tracer file - *.pkt
