(Responde las siguientes preguntas:)

What is happening in the picture?

Renoir in this painting represents a dance at the Moulin de la Galette.
In the foreground, in the lower right, there are diagonals created by benches and a
table where some people sit. Almost in the center you can see a couple that gives the
feeling that the whole party revolves around them. In one of the benches there is a
woman and a girl and in another a man and a woman, who do not know if they are
arguing or courting. The movement seen in the painting, which gives the impression
that people are dancing, is given by the undulation of their heads.

What are the woman and the man doing? (a) What are they wearing?
The woman and the man in the painting represent that they are dancing, holding
hands and staying close.
The woman wears a coral-colored dress, with apparently wavy orange hair, while the
man wears beige pants, a gray jacket and a black or dark blue hat.

What is the man with hat next to the tree doing? (b)
It seems that the man in the hat is just leaning against the tree as if he is looking at
someone silently, although there seems to be a child hiding under him.

What are the girl and the woman doing? (c) What do you think they are talking
about?
It seems that the girl is crying to the woman, they are probably talking about the
atmosphere of the dance or that she is already getting bored.

What are the two women and the man doing? (d) What do you think they are talking
about?
The two women are leaning on chairs that form a division, a woman is on the
youngest and they are talking with a man.
They are probably talking about going out dancing or just getting to know each other
more.

What are the two men at the table doing? (e)

Apparently, they are only attentive to the conversation of the man and the two
women, although one of them is shown with something in his mouth and the other

with a pen as if he were writing.

3. Write two questions that you would ask the characters.

(Escribe dos preguntas que les harías a los personajes.)

To the character in the hat that is in the tree I would ask: (b)
Who are you watching or what are you doing leaning on that tree?
I would ask the boy in the brown hat at the table: (e)
Why don't you ask one of the girls to dance?

4. Record a voice message where you describe what happens in the painting, to send to your
friend as an audio file on WhatsApp. You can start by saying:
(Graba un mensaje de voz en que describas lo que ocurre en la pintura, para enviarlo a tu amigo(a)
como archivo de audio por WhatsApp. Puedes iniciar diciendo:)

are many people there. In the picture, I can see…”
