1. Gas free of tank.

2. Drill holes to be provided for venting and trapped hydrocarbon gasses.

3. Inject water through Drilled holes to push the trapped hydrocarbons.

4. Check with Explo___ meter to ensure concentration of gas vapour for gas
cutting.

5. Provide stiffener for making suitable opening to insert new center sump & other
material.

6. Make opening in the deck after of suitable size for________

7. Cut & remove the existing center sump from tank bottom.

8. Repair the tank pad as per specifications.

9. Supply, Fabrication of new center sump & install the same duly painted on the
under side.

10. Fitting welding &DP testing of the new center sump.

11. Patch weld the drilled holes with proper size of patch plate & carryout DP
testing.

12. Close the opening on the deck matter under Item _____ above by suitable plate
& testing DP welded portion.

13. Hydrotest the Roof drain system.

14. Carry out complete hydrotest of the tank.

Annexure - I

PROCEDURE FOR CHANGING THE CENTER SUMP FOR TK.NO.35

1. Open Manways & Isolate the Shell Nozzles by proper spading.

2. Gas free the tank for safe to enter.

3. Drill sufficient holes around the center sump for venting of trapped gases.

4. Inject water through the drilled holes to push out the trapped hydrocarbons.

5. Check the consentration of gas vapours.

6. Step 4 & 5 to be repeated till the reading on gas meter is zero.

7. Provide stiffener on deck for making temporary suitable opening for inserting
new center sump & other material inside the tank.

8. Gas cut and remove the existing center sump from tank bottom.

9. Repair the tank Pad.

10. Supply, fabrication of new center sump as per existing tank dimension.

11. Insert the new center sump through the temporary opening made on the deck.

12. Fit the new sump and align properly after painting underside of centre sump.

13. Weld the new center sump and carryout DP testing of welds.

14. Patch weld the drilled holes with proper size of patch plates and carryout DP
testing of welds.

15. Close the temporary opening on the tank deck by new plate and DP test the
weld seams.

16. Hydrotest the Roof drain systems.

17. Close manways and carry out the hydrotesting of the tank.
