1 of 2 Solution to E114 on LS Desire

Purpose
The purpose of this Tmail is to notify the Lumenis authorized service engineers of a solution to
Error E114 on the LightSheer Desire system.

Applicable ECO: N/A

Background
The root cause of Error E114 (Electronic shutter failure) is electrical noise coming from the HVPS.
In order to determine that this is the cause, perform the following check:

1. Disconnect the vacuum pump from J5 on the driver board.

2. Turn on the system and go to Service mode.
3. Set the parameters 15A and fire the laser with ET/XC handpiece.
4. If the error is solved, it means that the problem originates in the HVPS. To solve the
problem, a new harness is added, as described below.

The new harness P/N SP-10067320 is added as a “jumper” to J202 on the HVPS.

SP-10067320 – New Harness for E114

To add the new harness, do the following:

1. Turn off the system, disconnect the system from the main wall power, and wait 5 minutes
for the capacitor to discharge.
2. Open the top cover and left side cover according to the service manual.

3. To gain better access, cut the tie-wraps on the harness as shown below.

4. Disconnect the white J202 connector from the HVPS.

5. Take the new harness, HS-10067320 and connect it in between both ends of the J202 you
just disconnected, forming a “jumper” for J202.

6. Push the extra harness cable inside the HVPS to enable closure of the side cover.
7. Re-attach new tie-wraps to the harness from step 3.
8. Turn on the system, executing the self-test; check proper operation and verify that E114
does not appear.

The harness can be ordered via the usual channels.
