TRAFFIC CONGESTION
Metro Manila experienced a noticeable decrease in
congestion levels in 2021. According to the data, the average
travel time has decreased by 6 minutes per day. According to
data from Amsterdam-based TomTom International, Metro
Manila will be 53 percent congested in 2021, down from 71
percent in 2019. This means that a 30-minute trip in Metro
Manila would take 53% longer than it would in normal,
uncongested conditions.
VULNERABLE TO EARTQUAKES
The West Valley Fault runs through Marikina City,
Quezon City, Pasig City, Pateros, Makati City, and
Taguig City etc., making all 16 cities and one
municipality in Metro Manila vulnerable to
earthquakes. However, the higher density and less
well-planned residential areas that it passes through
are in Makati and Taguig.
NOT ENOUGH GREEN SPACES
Makati City's largest green space has been
drastically reduced as a result of the construction
of a new hotel, an office tower, and stores,
depriving residents of one of the few remaining
open spaces. There is no eough green spaces so
makati so much prone to flooding.
