LIB
DIOCESE OF LINGAYEN
Circular No.1, Series 1951
TO THE VERY REVEREND CLERGY, SECULAR AND REGULAR,
OF THIS DIOCESE OF LINGA YEN
An urgency of matter, the paramount importance of which

ES
is underlined by the exigencies of the times, moves Us to send
out this Circular from Our bed of convalescence. In Our Cir-
cular No.3, Series 1950, before We left for Our Ad Limina
Visit to the Holy Father and for our pilgrimage to the

ID
Eternal City during the Holy Year, We mentioned about the
Silver Jubilee of the Canonical Coronation of the Image of
Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of the Shrine of Manaoag
AV
and about the Golden Jubilee of the reconstruction of the
same Shrine that would be celebrated this year. Now the
time to act has come! The double Jubilee Day will be on
April 21, 1951, as announced by the Very Rev. Fr. Te6dulo
Cajigal, O.P., Superior of the Dominican Community and parish
EN

priest of the Shrine of Manaoag.

The double Jubilee with its concomittant labors, sacrifices,
and activities cannot but be a fitting Act of Thanksgiving to
Almighty God for all the benedictions and graces received by
EB

our Diocese through the maternal intercession of Our Lady

of the Most Holy Rosary of the Shrine of Manaoag and an
Act of Thanksgiving to Our Heavenly Mother Herself. We
would like you also to realize that the Jubilee festivity would
be the most propitious occasion for us all to heed the call of
LD

His Holiness, Pope Pius XII, on the whole Christendom to the

worldwide Crusade of Peace and Order during this Holy Year
outside of Rome. We would like, therefore, that the occasion
would not pass without the maximum degree of efforts exerted
for the effective prosecution of plans and for the successful
accomplish~ent of its motivating ends.
UE

In preparation for the double Jubilee, it is our ardent

desire that the Image of Our Lady in the Manaoag Shrine be
brought through an arranged itinerary to the parishes of our
Diocese where circumstances obtaining warrant security from
IG

disturbances and that the Im,age be received triumphantly and

be made to stay at least overnight for devotions. We call on
all the faithful to visit the Church during the stay of the
Image of the Blessed Virgin in their parish and to avail them-

selves, under the prescribed conditions and prayers that will

come out in a following Circular, of the occasion to gain the
Indulgences of the Holy Year. Of course, the usual Confession
