Based on
the standards, what specific pump is suitable for the system (provide 1 catalog)
Progressive Cavity pump is a type of positive displacement pump, it tranfers fluids through the
pump by a sequence of small cavities which creates a propertional volumetric flow rate to
rotation rate of the rotor.

4. What are the advantages, disadvantages and application of the suitable pump
The advantages of a Progressive Cavity Pump in wastewater treatment is that it is specifically
designed to transport abrasive and viscous wastewater, however the main disadvantage of a
progressive cavity pump is that these pumps fail when there is less wastewater in its system.
Therefore, these pumps are applicable to high volume wastewater areas such as cities and
environmental controlled farms.
5. Pump Maintenance
The maintenance of Progressive Cavity Pumps are relatively simple. The following are the
different maintenance required for the pump:
Dosing and metering; since these pumps are designed to prevent pulsation, highly viscous fluids,
abrasive fluids, and shear sensitive fluids are recommended to maintain a progressive cavity
pump.
