How can you find out more about word classes? First of all, you can look in a dictionary. They show
the word class next to the word. For example:

Here are some ways that dictionaries show pronouns and different types of noun
Read the descriptions of abbreviations. Match each description to the correct abbreviation
This shows the word is a countable
(el _ oun, e.g. teacher, learner.
wu rc This shows the word is an uncountable
_ noun, €.g. oi, rice.

Ter This shows the plural form of the noun,
PI e.g. sheep, trousers.
= ~ This shows the singular form of the
