AN EXECUTIVE ORDER REORGANIZING THE

BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (BDC)

WHEREAS, sections 106 to 115 of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 provide
for the organization of the Barangay Development Council (BDC) as an advisory body to Barangay officials in
setting the development thrusts of the Barangay;

WHEREAs, the BDC shall formulate a multi-sectoral development plan the shall direct the local Sangguniang in
crafting the economic and social development and coordinating development efforts within our territorial
jurisdiction;

NOW THEREFORE, I MARLON R. ARENAS, Punong Barangay of Palabotan, Dupax del Sur, by virtue of the
powers vested in me by law and other issuances, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Organizing and Composition. There is hereby organized a BDC which shall be composed of the
following:

SECTION 2. Duties and Function. the BDC shall exercise the Following Functions:
1. Mobilize people’s organization in local development efforts;
2. Prepare barangay development plans based on local requirements;
3. Monitor and evaluable the implementation of National and local programs and projects in the
Barangay; and
4. Perform such other functions as maybe provided law.

SECTION 3. Barangay Development Council Executive Committee. There shall be an executive Committee in
the BDC which shall an act in behalf of the BDC when is not in session.
 A) The EXECOM shall be composed of the following:

SECTION 4. Secretariat. The Barangay Secretary who shall be assisted by the Municipal Development Planning
Coordinator shall head the secretariat of the Barangay Development Council.

The secretariat shall perform the followings:

1. Responsible for the provision of technical support;

2. Documentation of proceedings;
3. Preparation of reports; and
4. Perform such other functions as may be required in the discharge of its functions.

SECTION 5. Meeting and quorum. The BDC shall meet at least once every six (6) months on time, date and
place to be specified in a notice meeting at least one (1) day before the scheduled meeting, or as often as may
be necessary.

SECTION 6. Effectivity. This order shall take effect upon its approval.
