Yabut, Jr AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE CASH INCENTIVES OF SENIOR CITIZENS FROM TWO THOUSAND PESOS (P2,000.00) TO THREE THOUSAND PESOS (P3,000.00) EACH FOR THOSE UNDER AGE BRACKET 70-79 YEARS OLD; AND. FROM TWO THOUSAND PESOS (P2,000.00) TO FOUR THOUSAND PESOS (P4,000.00) EACH FOR THOSE UNDER AGE BRACKET 80 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE, TO BE PAID IN TWO (2) EQUAL RELEASES IN THE MONTHS OF JUNE AND DECEMBER OF THE YEAR, FUNDS SHALL BE TAKEN FROM THE, EXECUTIVE BUDGET CY 2012 OF THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR UNDER SPECIAL ACTIVITIES FUND, SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND AUDITING RULES AND PROCEDURES. yz Makati. Mahalia Matin... rhein Vo,WHEREAS, in recognition of the vital roles and contributions of the city’s senior citizens 10 the development of the Makati into a vibrant city and the recognized economic powerhouse of the country, while, at the same time, retaining its rich cultural identity/heritage and religious piety, the City Government has been granting annual cash incentives in the amount of two thousand pesos (P2,000,00) cach to all registered (blu card holders) senior citizens WHEREAS, the mounting expenses for medicines and other medical concerns of senior citizens as their age advances make their monthly pensions, if any, hardly sufficient to tide them over. This condition is true 10 most of the city's senior citizens, particularly those belonging to the older groupings who are in more fragile state of health, but not, 1 , the least grateful for the privileges that come with their realization of how much the city genuinely and truly care for them in their twilight years; WHEREAS, the cash incentives, even with the herein increase, are insignificant token stim and paled in comparison to the trailblazing efforts and pioneering spirits of our beloved senior citizens in carving the City of Makati of today. As to date, there are 15,745 senior citizens under the age bracket of 70-79 and 6,190 for ages 80 and above NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AS IT IS HEREBY ENACTED RY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF MAKATI, METRO MANILA, BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, that Section 1. The cash incentives of Senior Citizens is hereby increased from Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00) t0 Three Thousand Pesos (P3,000.00) each for those Age Bracket 70-79 years old and fron Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000,00) to Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00) each for those under Age Bracket 80 and above to be paid in two (2) equal releases in the months of June and December of the year, fund shall be taken from the Executive Budget CY 2012 of the Office of the Mayor under Special Activities Fund, subject to all laws and auditing rules and procedures, Section 2. Let copy of this Ordinance be furnished the City Treasurer's Offiee, the City Budget Office, the City Administrator's Office, the Office of the Mayor, the Office of the Senior Citizens and other concerned offices for their information, guidance and reference. Section 3.
