Lesson Plan in Math 2

I. OBJECTIVE:
With the help of group activity, the Grade 2 pupils will be able to:
a. identify the ways on how to order number up to 1000 from least to greatest and vice
versa;
b. participate actively in the activities of the lesson;

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Ordering Numbers Up to 1000 From Least to Greatest and Vice Versa
Materials: strip of papers with numbers, flash cards, popsicle stick
References: Mathematics: Kagamitan ng mga Mag-aaral ( Sinugbuanong Binisaya)
pp. 31-33
Values Integration: Cooperation

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Engage
The teacher will begin by:
- A short recap about the previous lesson.
-Group game
-The class will be group into 4 and each group will be provided
with different bundles of popsicle stick .

Each member helps in counting the number of popsicle sticks in every bundle
and they will going to arrange the bundle from least to the greatest number.
The leader writes the numbers on the board which are arrange in order from
least to greatest.

Valuing: Which group did it quickly and correctly? Why?
What must one do when working with a group? ( Work Cooperatively)
The teacher will explain more on the value of cooperation.
B. Explore:
The teacher will call 4 pupils in a class and will be given a strip of paper with
number. She will tell the pupils to write the numbers on the board.

The teacher will let her pupils to arrange the following numbers from least to
greatest.
C. Explain:
The teacher will ask the following question:
What is the least number? (102)
The next number? ( 236)
How about the greatest number? (601)
How are the number arranged? ( from least to greatest)
In what ways does counting start? ( least number)
The teacher will now rearrange the number on the board and she will let her
pupils read and observe the order of the numbers.
How are the numbers arranged? ( from greatest to least)
In what number does counting start? ( greatest number)
D. Elaborate:
The teacher will provide another example .
( Board work)
She will let the pupils read and
arrange the numbers from least to greatest on the board.
With the same sets of numbers arrange them in order from greatest to least.
