Learning Outcomes:
The course is fundamentally focused to present the students with basic knowledge on modern
manufacturing processes used in the present manufacturing industries. The course presents the
importance of modern manufacturing processes to fabricate required parts and components for
manufacturing industries.

The students will be able to select the required manufacturing process based on the process
capability of the process. They will independently analyze the effect of input process parameters
on output process parameters.

● Identify the need and characteristics of modern manufacturing processes.

● Describe the basic mechanism of material processing and working principle of the
processes.
● Understand the process capability of each modern manufacturing process.
● Identify the process parameters and manufacturing characteristics of the processes.
● Analyze the effect of input process parameters on output process parameters of the
processes.
● Apply this knowledge to identify the suitable manufacturing process for a specific part or
component fabrication.

Teaching Methodology:
Board presentation, Power point presentation, Videos, Assignments, and Lab Visit.
