Introduction

To begin with, the canal is the main source of trade by connecting the Pacific Ocean with
the Atlantic Ocean, this gives the possibility of being a short and cheap transit route for
ships in charge of transporting merchandise. In addition, it is considered important due to
the amount of traffic it has, which increases day by day, such as the transport of oil, food,
among others that are very important for maritime trade.

Secondly, its infrastructure is one of the most important, modern and complex of the 20th
century. Being one of the infrastructures with the best engineering in the region. In
addition, it was a work done by hand by man, which also gives importance to the work
done by them. Since most of it came from the countries of the Antilles. This construction
brought with it an advance and technological development.

The Panama Canal is one of the most important shipping channels in the world. Which
connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It is located on the Isthmus of Panama and is one
of the best ways to shorten navigation times.

 How to visit the Panama Canal

The main way to visit the Panama Canal is from the viewpoints of its locks. Three locks
can be visited in the Panama Canal:

 Miraflores.
 Pedro Miguel.
 Agua Clara.

But you can also have a very close experience that is from the channel itself, through
navigation.

To get to the Panama Canal by Metrobus, you must necessarily go to the Albrook Bus
Terminal. Which is quite simple, in the city almost all routes lead to this terminal. You just
have to make sure you are in the right direction of the road that leads to that route. Once at
the Albrook Bus Terminal, find the route that goes to Miraflores, where the canal is located.

Miraflores Visitor Center is only a 15-minute drive from downtown Panama City. The
Agua Clara Locks are a 1-hour drive from the capital, near the city of Colon on the
Atlantic.

 Casts, tickets or prices information

The entrance fee to the canal varies depending on the person:

 National Residents from $1.50 to $3.00.


 Non-Panama residents from $5.00 to $10.00.

Schedules vary slightly depending on the lock you visit:

Tuesday to Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
 Agua Clara Visitors Center
Tuesday to Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Panama Canal can be visited at any time of the year. Having an unforgettable

some of the many reasons to visit the Canal.

The Expansion of the Panama Canal added a third lane for the transit of larger ships, with
