It is called walking note.
It receives one beat.
It has a shaded head.

A whole note is written this way.

Whole note is a round-shaped note.
It has no stem.
It has four counts.
It is called sleeping note.

It is equivalent to two half notes.

It is equivalent to four quarter notes.
