COMMUNICATION IS A PROCESS
WHY COMMUNICATION IS A PROCESS?
Because it refers to a series of actions or steps taken to successfully communicate. It
involves several components such as the sender of the communication, the actual message
being sent, the encoding of the message, the receiver, and the decoding of the message.

2. COMMUNICATION IS SYSTEMATIC
In general, communication is a systematic process to create and interpret meaning. The
process is involved how the sender and receiver encode and decode the message. The various
components of communication are linked to one another as parts of one system. – The absence
of any one of them can result in ineffective communication.

3. COMMUNICATION IS SYMBOLIC
Verbal symbols are spoken (using voice and speech sounds) or written (using letters or
characters).
Nonverbal ones are employed and perceived through our gestures, body language, facial
expressions, and voice quality while speaking.

4. COMMUNICATION INVOLVES MEANING

Communication is perceived as a process that typically involves transferring the meaning from
one person to another person. Meaning or messages are transferred by various mediums such
as verbal, signs, signals, symbols, nonverbal, written, and many other kinds. It basically
happens between the sender and the receiver. For successful communication, the meaning or
message must be imparted or communicated and understood by the receiver. Suppose that if
the message is only communicated, but the receiver does not understand it, then it is
meaningless and creates miscommunication and misunderstanding.
