Calculus I with Pre-Calculus Rough Timeline of

Topics

Term 1
● Trigonometry
● Prerequisite Skills Review (Solving equations, graphing
lines, etc.)

Term 2
● Functions & Their Graphs
● Polynomials & Rational Functions

Term 3
● Exponents & Logarithms
● Limits

Term 4
● Differentiation (includes Trigonometry, Exponents,
Logarithms & Related Rates)
● Applications of Differentiation
Next Year for 10th & 11th graders Calculus B/C (Equivalent
of Calculus II)

AP Calculus AB = Calculus I in college

“A” – Differentiation

“B” – Integration

AP Calculus BC = Calculus II in college

“B” – Integration

“C” – Sequences and Series

Most students in this class will go to AP Calculus BC next


year and will receive an AB sub-score on the exam.

Some students will choose to go to AP Calculus AB because


they don’t feel confident in their differentiation.

Seniors will get a head start in their Calculus I course in


college next year but will not have enough Calculus to skip
Calculus I.
